Holy shit that’s super close to my family’s ranch


Peterson homestead is 15 miles north of Gothenburg and 2 miles west. (Real shit ground to try and make money on, shouldn’t have went that far north… idiot ancestors)

But yea the course should be pretty sweet. Peeds are going to dump a stupid amount of money into that piece of land. It's going to be amazing.

It's going to be about 10 miles north of Maxwell if I remember right. There's a few articles about it, let me grab one quick.

I had been seeing social media posts from Dormie network talking about a 7th club with a flag on the map in western Nebraska. I thought maybe they were buying Wildhorse or Bayside or Heritage Hills renovating and making it a semi-private club with new lodging and amenities. Cool that it will be closer off 80 and maybe somewhat more accessible.

great location, way easier to get to vs. the Sandhills course or Dismal. Like 20 mins drive to Wild horse in Gothenburg too, 2 great courses so close


15 mins from the NP airport and I80, will be great for Maxwell. I was just there last summer when I took my wife and son to the military cemetery Ft. McPherson to see my Grandparent's headstone.

yep, the people who want the exclusivity of Sandhills/Dismal or even Prairie club can get that and the people who don't want to waste 1/2 a day of driving will prefer this location


weekend trip v. probably need to take some days off of work to go to the others

Read in the article that said the taxable land value was 1.3mil+ for over 2,300 acres. That's a crazy amount of land for a golf course when only about 200aces is irrigated and maintained.

I'm guessing its a combo of not wanting any agriculture or other development within the direct site lines of the course + probably also needed some big ass water rights to water the fuck out of the course and make it look prrrrretty.

Have played there a few times. Along with our BYOGC (bring your own golf cart) we had a .22 pistol and a rifle.

I usually play I every year. The land is for sale now and going to auction. There are rumors the course could be gone soon. I really hope they keep it as is a really fun course to play.

it's hard to beat #18 at Sandhills. On my only visit there I made a walk off birdie from the tips. I should have quit golf right there because I'll never surpass that

my ancestors kept going for another 150mi west. Often wondered why they kept going past the fertile farming grounds of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Cockeye and eastern Neb.
