Would you pay extra to watch the Huskers?

If you read the article (or listen to the podcast), Staples says that Tennessee currently has a 15,000 person waitlist for season tickets. At the current time, they aren't worried about pricing some of their fans out, as they have plenty of people to pass the higher prices to. If Tennessee tanks in the next couple of years, then they may have to rethink the price increase, but right now their demand is pretty much near an all-time high.
I’m going to call this “The Disney World Effect”.

Anybody who has been to Disney World in the past five years have seen prices skyrocket while getting the same or even lower levels of amenities and service.

Disney can do this even though they are pricing a bunch of people out because enough people will pay incredibly stupid prices for said substandard product.

Not saying its right or wrong just not necessarily unique.

"Those freaking greedy corporations not just absorbing the added expenses that are happening to them by needing to pay players more and passing it down to us! Such price gouging!"

Haven't talked to someone on the left lately so hopefully I did that right.

Circling it back about the actual conversation... I will say that when I talked to 1890, there were less than 20 teams that actually made money in their athletic department, so when revenue sharing comes around they will be gutted. Tennessee's athletic department actually lost 3 million dollars last year, so they HAVE to do this. A team like Oklahoma only made 2 million dollars. So when athletes are scheduled to receive between 20-25 million, that gets crazy in a hurry. Schools like Cockeye that are doing everything they can to break even are going to be in real trouble come a couple years. The thought is a lot of sports will just start getting cut. Athletic departments if they are going to be held accountable for not being in the red are going to need to cut expenses somewhere.

Going to be really weird the next 1-3 years. What teams will do this, or will teams like Nebraska not need to? Either way the balance sheet is going to go further towards the red for all these teams once revenue sharing is inhouse.
