With the defense getting so much hype I feel it's time to bring them back down to earth for a moment.

What is the single worst Husker defensive play you can remember?

I'll kick us off. It was actually a spring game, can't remember which year but I think it was in the late Pelini years. Red team handed it off to the smallest, slowest running back I've ever seen. It was a completely busted play and still the white defense made literally zero effort to bring the guy down. Missed tackles left and right. Worse yet they were cheering when he scored. It was unreal.

When our defense caused a turnover and our defensive lineman ended up with the ball at the end of the game with very little time remaining and instead of just falling down he tried to return it and ended up fumbling it back to Texas Tech who a few plays later scored to win the game. We literally lost because he thought he was gonna house it from 85 yards. Fucking fat ass.

Matt O'Hanlon?

That was against Texas Tech. Cost me $100.

I immediately thought of the 2007 Ball St game. There's probably a lot of plays you could pick from the 2007 season. My votes would go to games I was at in person. I was in Blacksburg in 09 so I'll never forget the pass at the end. When Tyrod Taylor threw that ball the WR was a good 15 yards past O'Hanlon. Another play that comes to mind, is I was in Madison in 2013 when Melvin Gordon set the rushing record. I always remembered one of Gordon's long runs where Corey Cooper was next to him, dove at his legs, and Gordon jumped over him like a fucking gazelle and ran into the endzone. I remember throwing my hands up and saying to my dad I'm going to the bathroom and I got up and left. Then saw another long Gordon run while waiting in line to go to the bathroom.

This was mainly on Bohl for putting him in this position, but in the 2000 KSU game it was fucking maddening watching Erwin Swinney chase Quincy Morgan all over the field in man coverage.

KSU had nothing else going offensively and NU's running game was taking over. Then KSU lined up their best player against our weak link in the secondary and the game was lost. It wasn't just one play, it was an entire half of football.

when we were i believe up 17-3 in 2014 vs wisconsin and we had melvin gordon tackled in the backfield & he hurdled corey cooper for a 60 yard td

I was in Madison for this game. I couldn’t find a ticket for the price I wanted to pay. So my friends and I decided to go go Brats on State St. We were piss drunk when we walked in. Got more and more riled up while we were talking to the Head of Campus Republicans at UW-Madison. It was glorious.

Game starts and we go up early and look to be cruising. Corey Cooper causes that fumble with a perfect form tackle and everything is incredible.

When they scored they hit this very loud train whistle behind the bar. So when they got this early field goal I got an idea….

When we scored to go up 17-3 I snuck in the area of the train whistle and I rang it. Crazily enough I didn’t get thrown out, but I did receive some very unkind words from all of the Wisconsin people in attendance.

As fate would have it, the huskers go on to put up the most embarrassing display of football most any human has ever witnessed.
