Hard to say. Right now, we probably would beat MN, but I feel that there's parity in the BIG West, or BIG in general outside of tOSU and Meatchicken. Also, we are playing with a beat up OL and lost a few key players on defense. Hard to say if Quinton Newsome would've made a difference last season and losing Singleton has hurt some.

I figured. Just making sure it was a typo and not that you were actually an idiot thinking there wasn't parity.
It is so bad that despite not having a even below average quarterback we still have a very real scenario where we win the West.

Cockeye loses to Illinois this weekend and we beat Wisconsin and Black Friday is for the West.

I'm not saying it's going to happen but that's not the world's most improbable scenario.

Granted, it doesn't reference the amount of fumbles this season by QBs.

I would challenge some of that because it includes two games in tray Palmer's stats where Casey was hurt. His yards were actually over 1,400 without Trey. I ran them myself that's why I knew..

And they're subtracting Treys TDs but then keeping interceptions the same. Also disingenuous.

Not too mention with yards, let's say you add all his attempts to the rest and his yards would be lower but probably around 2k

All that may be true, but it highlights the fact that Casey wasn't some all-conference QB, like some Husker fans like to portray him as. Palmer was one hell of a safety blanked and made him look much better than he was. Casey made plenty of horrible decisions with the ball in his hands and had plenty of interceptions dropped, like HH has had.

Would Casey have us at a better record? Probably. It is beating a dead horse at this rate - no way did Rhule, even in his wildest dreams, imagine Sims probably having the single worst season a P5 QB might ever have. Like @Carm has posted before, his TO rate was trending the right direction (before taking a snap here, obviously).

You can see WHY they went after a transfer portal QB. Casey was hurt. The OL was not that great in pass pro last year - i.e. the need for more QB run game. WRs, outside of Washington and I guess IGC, were unproven.

Casey's injury history alone is enough reason to doubt him helping all that much, although maybe he gets a win against either Minn or CU before getting hurt like he has every other year he played

But I don't think it does. Or at least not to the degree it looks like it does.

Let's put it this way...if you take away Trey last year, I'd bet his line would look something like this.

60%
2,000 yards
15 TDs / 10 ints

That's still DRAMATICALLY better than this year's QBs

Plus...our young WRs are probably better than any WR not named Trey we had last year. Marcus even looked this year without Trey.

We beat Minnesota if HH starts and is fresh, and already qualified for a bowl game.

Probably lose 70 or so rushing yards a game. Hard to believe results would be better. Defense would also likely be on the field more.

They are all shit. One may be a huge elephant shit, another a cow patty shit, and one a pile of horse shit.

The bottom line here is they are all basically shit...just which flavor, stank, and shape of shit to you appreciate more?

The crazy part is how much arguing over shit everyone is willing to do. Your pile of shit is still shit!

This Casey v. Sims. V. Haarberg is pretty hypothetical, even for my taste.

Bottom line:

5 wins NU is -2 in TO margin. -0.4/game (100th nationally)
5 losses NU is -12 in TO margin. -2.4/game (133rd [dead last] nationally)

Being bad at taking care of the football would be a massive improvement. So put a fucking giraffe at qb for all I care so long as the son of a bitch doesn’t turn it over 25% more than the next worst team in college football.

I really don't think so. Casey's ability to pass would absolutely open up running lanes

don't think anyone is portraying him as an all conference qb, just that he'd be better than what we have on the roster right now
