Any word on the replacement? Are they promoting from within?

He destroyed what was Wisconsin's identity and their formula for being competitive. I've heard that behind the scenes in Madison, he's not someone that Alvarez and top boosters have embraced. He's like their version of Bill Callahan.
Some of us pointed this out as soon as it was known that he wanted to bring the air raid, but it was hard to hear over the relentless QUACKING

Possible replacements listed for OC job on their board:

Gino Guidugli
Brian Hartline
Mike Denbrock
Tom Herman
Marcus Arroyo
Sean Lewis

It’s a wish list not claiming any of them are hired

Hartline will leave to be a HC not to be a OC at wisky
Here’s what article says about Hartline:
Coaching Stops: Ohio State (2017) Offensive quality control assistant | Ohio State (2018–2022) Wide receivers coach | Ohio State (2023 )Offensive coordinator & wide receivers coach | Ohio State (2024–present) Co-offensive coordinator & wide receivers coach

Why Hartline: This would be a home-run hire if #2ndChoice could get Hartline to join his staff. Hartline has been one of the most coveted coaches in the sport for years. His reputation as a recruiter precedes him, having produced first-round NFL talent like Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Marvin Harrison Jr.

Hartline was also a player at Ohio State when #2ndChoice was the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.

He became the Buckeyes’ offensive coordinator in 2023, but was effectively demoted to “co-offensive coordinator” this season after Chip Kelly joined the staff and became the play caller. If he is interested in taking full control of an offense, Columbus may not be the place.

Why Not: Besides a six-year NFL career, Hartline has spent his entire adult life either playing or coaching in Columbus.

Based on his success as a recruiter, he’s almost certainly received numerous coordinator and head coaching opportunities elsewhere.

Although, he’s shown no desire to coach at anywhere except Ohio State, except for when he hinted at a potential move to the NFL.

"I love my alma mater at Ohio State," Hartline said on the podcast ‘Bussin’ With The Boys’ in April 2023.

"My heart's in the NFL. I think one day I'd want to coach there, and that's the reality of it. When? I don't know. My in-laws are here and my wife's from Columbus; there's a big foundation that's been built here. I love coaching the receivers. When I started, I was like, 'I'll be the receivers coach for the next 15 to 20 years, leave me alone, I'm good,' but then that grows."

#2ndChoice is likely looking for a play-caller. Hartline has never filled that role. Still, #2ndChoice obviously values recruiting, and there are few better offensive recruiters in the country than Hartline.

And something else. When I was at that game in Lincoln, the crowd was dead. I know the offense had 2 yards after the first quarter and the defense are given up too long touchdown drives that doesn’t matter.

I’m an out-of-state guy from Kansas. I grew up a husker. It’s in my blood, but I’m not a local. I didn’t go to the university. I didn’t grow up there. I don’t live there currently. With all that said you’re either a fan or or not and you either care you don’t and I didn’t feel like Nebraska fans had any fight when I was at that game. I was the most vocal one I didn’t hear very many people talking about the issues or even fighting against the refs and booing when things were clearly wrong.

Watched Jamal Banks get mugged in the end zone in that game. I don’t know if it’s a fan a coach or banks, but somebody sometimes has to fight back either with your actions on the field or your emotions.. who is fighting for Nebraska I heard Matt rule asked that question. He seems to be fighting with his decisions, firing coaches that are friends. when are the players gonna start fighting? When are the fans gonna start fighting? Nebraska’s been getting screwed for years and all we do is travel. Watch it happen and take it..

Apologize for the long post and if there are any errors. I’m not even typing this. I’m driving down the highway right now talking into my phone. Just wanted to reach out to husker fans. We talk about we talk about all things go wrong but sometimes you just gotta do something about it and make a play and until that time comes until that person comes, we have to keep fighting.
I hear you, but at the same time I don't.

I think few, if any other schools could "sell out" or even get close to filling their stadiums if they haven't made a bowl game in the past 7 seasons. It's really hard for me to be remotely critical of Nebraska fans right now.

I say this as someone who continues to scream at the tv every Saturday and doesn't miss a game.

If true then get used to losing I guess. It’s bigger than the team.

Maybe the alcohol next year will wake people the hell up.
I used to work in Lincoln on game days only at the bar (the bar the bar)all 3 Riley years and then a year of two of frost before retiring. A lot of players would come in after games a couple even worked there (Kenny bell, sirles, Tim marlow). Frat guys would get wrist, elbow, and shoulder injuries from giving high 5s and saying good game after a 48-10 ass kicking to football players. Sorority girls got all sorts of injuries from throwing themselves at these same football players after the same ass kicking.

Where is the motivation to not suck when you you’re treated like you play for the New England patriots during their dynasty.

Speculation on Wisconsin board that #2ndChoice is being coy and already has an OC. Thought is to keep us off balance for preparations.

Frankly, I don’t see that. In todays world, it’s hard to keep something like that a secret. And #2ndChoice was really testy in his press conference today.

Their defense looked really good against Oregon. I’m much more worried about that than I am their offense
