Dave Doeren seems like a candidate. I think he has some big ten ties. Big question for the Clawson, Doeren, class of coach is do they understand that you need to recruit at a much higher level than they do to win at Nebraska as much as we want

i think they could win the west with talent like that which is already here. Maybe occasionally win the B1G, and that should be the goal at this point. Win the West regularly, and then we can look to build on that if that ever comes to fruition. But yea, it'd be awesome if they recruited really well, too.

I don't necessarily disagree, but maybe we need to stop going for the chick who will do reverse cowgirl tits in our face while holding a knife to the shaft of our penis and go for the stable, reliable, missionary with the lights off followed by an enjoyable episode of the NBC hit show the Blacklist

Yeah. I think my general concern with the "he's done more with less" guys is that they've never been in a position to do even more with more. And even though it didn't work out, you want to end up out of the gate with a staff that looks more like 2017 Riley with high level recruiters than 2015 Riley with Oregon State buddies at the outset

Yea, it will likely be a crapshoot with whoever NU gets but I'd definitely feel better about someone that has shown great organizational skills, and attention to detail that got shitty programs to be more than respectable at the P5 level.

Money talks and everyone has a price just like Jimbo leaving FSU for Texas A&M (plus I'm sure wife cucking him played into the equation there as well). I bet there's a price for Dabo or try to hire Brent Venables even though he seems content on staying at Clemson for whatever reason.

There's a possibility of trying to persuade Bob Stoops out of retirement to come back for a few years with a possibility of a coach in waiting to mentor similar that he did with Lincoln Riley. NC was able to do it with Mack Brown.

At the end of the day, I don't want some mid tier coach and rather have a proven winner. There's no reason why we shouldn't be in contention to win the BIG West each year, instead we'll finish at the bottom of the conference and turning into Kansas.

Definitely. I didn't hate the theory behind the Riley hire, but he wasn't good enough and Eichorst soft touch of a rapist was never going to allow him to be successful. But I didn't hate the idea of going out and getting a more seasoned "professional" coach to actually build a program rather than hiring another guy to learn lots of things on the job
