That's an excellent question, and I thank you for asking it. I love that we live in a world where we can ask questions. Because without questions, we just have answers. And an answer without a question is just a statement.
Like I said, they don’t know shit.

Probably horseshit but nonetheless

What is Dannen's stick? Rhule's salary increases 1-1.5M a year through the end of the contract in 2028.

If Matt Rhule is fired without cause, he is entitled to 90% of his base salary for the remaining term. It must be paid within 24 months.

We'd have to pay him $30M. I can't see us doing that when the guy is 5-2.

Rhule might fire Satt on his own, though.

@slattimer has been somewhat vocal about it.

I don’t know enough to match him; but it seems every week we read about how stupid it is for Satt to be running duo into XYZ front, or how we were torching them with power and Satt is hell bent on running Duo.

Of the original guys Rhule hired very few are qualified. I will give him the benefit of the doubt on the defensive side because he’s had a knack for identifying coaching talent on that side mainly at DL.

On offense, Donnie Raiola was the one with the most P5 experience at 1 year.

Satterfield has never been good enough to be here.

I don’t want to get into the business of dragging out old takes because we all have been wrong about a lot. But Rhule having to adjust his offensive staff was the most predictable thing ever.
I think I know what you’re referencing from @slattimer

I think the staff is shitty until proven otherwise to Nebraska fans by default.

If Rhule wants to go out and get a top-5 OC I won’t be complaining

I doubt he’d fire Rhule. But doesn’t an assistant coach contract need an ADs signature for final approval? And most are 2 year deals. Could be applying hear that way to drive change

Not sure he needs a signature per se but the AD and President must approve his selections for coordinator jobs

It is going to be interesting what changes are made in the short term and the long term. It is starting to seem like the Riley-Langsdork era where Riley says we need to run the ball while Langsdorf laughs and continues passing the ball 80% of the time. Riley looked like an idiot, not in control ( which he wasn’t, think Billy DeVaney). Rhule needs to not let that sort of thing happen.

No inside knowledge, but the defense has looked uncharacteristically out of whack. Is Rhule having Butler handling more of the defense? Butler is not an odd front guy, probably closer to Cockeye in Scheme. Are we in the between two schemes and nobody really knows how to coach it? Just spitballing, trying to make sense of the collapse.
