Were you on the original hire Frost train?

I felt within the first 5 years we would have had a conference championship.

So while that is technically still alive....

I was very much against it halfway through the season when rivals posters started describing him as our destiny and it being fate, given his lack of experience and the context around his UCF teams (they were more talented than virtually the entire AAC, and the winless season before Frost took over was a bit of a red herring).

At the end of the season, I was happy he was hired because no one else would have received any support given that SF was getting hired somewhere. I was really supportive his first year, but my enthusiasm has obviously declined quite a bit since then.

I'm pretty sure I was the engineer on the Frost train. Riley was an absolute boat anchor with no upside. I saw Frost as the 30 year plan..... I figured that would be his tenure and not the year of his first bowl game.

The Purdue game year 1 after the Colorado game was a major red flag to me

The close Ohio State loss (back when I believed in moral victories) helped me buy back in after the 6 straight losses (including Troy and an absolute beating by Michigan) But yeah I agree, there were already causes for concern

I mean congrats on patting yourself on the back, but if they didn't hire Frost it would have been a disaster. The was coming off of an undefeated season, he played at Nebraska, is from Nebraska and every other school wanted him. Moos had to hire him.

I wanted Mike Gundy. I still want that crazy bastard. But they had to hire Frost.

Gundy’s sister lives in Lincoln. I knew there was friction there with him and Okie St for quite awhile. Would be interesting to see if he’d jump.

You would have done that for white castle hamburger though
That's fair.

I actually thought when Riley was hired the Frost plan was already in place. Riley aka recruiting guru would find all of the best athletes in the universe and after Frost got a few years of head coaching experience Riley would retire and Frost would come win the NC year after year.

I actually thought Riley had things clicking his 2nd year recruiting wise until they turned everything upside down and fired Banker for Diaco. I wasn't a fan of hiring Frost and thought there were better candidates out there and knew he was in trouble when our 3 QB's, Lee, Gebbia and the polish hammer all left immediately after he was hired because he felt that AMart was better. I find it ironic that everyone on RSS kept saying that Frost needs more time after year 2, then year 3 and still today are now seeing the light. While some of the national pundits admit that Nebraska is a 6 year rebuild, but a lot of our losses were preventable this year and there's no reason why we shouldn't be leading the west and ranked in the top 15 with this team. At the end of the season, I hope Scott does some introspection and gets his personal life in order (whether the G25 rumors are true or not) and swallows his pride and learn where he went wrong in coaching this season. Maybe he has started the process and hopefully Turd will assist him and get us back to being a respectable program again.

I wanted Frost when we hired Riley - I wanted Nebraska to be his first and only head coaching job.
