Week 1 v Cincinnati (Arrowhead Stadium) - Thursday, August 28: Depth Chart, Game Notes, Etc
The upside of this year’s defensive line is that they got some pretty good transfers. There are two guys that probably were slated to start last year, Jalen Huntand Mikah Coleman, who were injured and missed the season. Cincinnati took some big hits on the defensive line last year, and they were playing a lot of guys, so those guys are all healthy for now. That’s an upside.
The Cincinnati fans and media who keep bringing up these two dudes seem very clueless about this newly fanangled Transfer Portal Machine.
Jalen Hunt has started 5 football games since 2020. He has 3 career tackles for loss and 0 sacks. He was eligible and healthy at Cincinnati in 2023 and he had 3 fucking tackles in 12 games.
Mikah Coleman is a better player than Hunt, but he only played one game vs. a Power Conference opponent during his two seasons at Eastern Michigan. Tomorrow's game will be his first live football game in 21 months.
When Coleman transferred from Eastern Michigan, Cincinnati and Houston, two new Big 12 schools were the only Power conference programs to offer him a scholarship.
I feel like I've paid as much attention to the transfer portal as anyone because I'm quite the nerd about that shit. Players like Hunt and Coleman are dudes like Stephon Wynn or Devin Drew. They are not impact players at this level, and not being ignorant or naive when I suggest Nebraska tackles and guards are going to feast on those dudes.
When I hear Holgerson talk confidently about running the damn ball, I feel like he knows they are going to isolate Corleone and dominate the edge.
Not in the 2-deep. Nebraska's 2 deep is the 3rd oldest in the Big Ten. Nebraska also has more total starts in their 2-deep, and way more combined starts at Nebraska as opposed to other programs.
Dinardo says you can’t be considered a physical offense if you run zone… wtf is he talking about? lol. I’m convinced he’s the worst analyst in football.

Full on.. Guy is a dipshit and literally has no idea what he is talking about. He has it easy though because in the preseason he can just pick OSU, Michigan or Oregon and say their teams look good and that they are the ones to beat... Duh. I can't stand him.
