Week 1 Depth Chart vs UTEP + Game Week Notes, Odds & Ends

Do you know how many former FCS TEs have turned into multi-year Offensive Tackles at the NFL Level?

Its actually more than the number of former 5-Star HS tackles. I'm not saying Seagren is future NFL All-Pro. But I do know the kid has a freakish body at a hair under 6'7 with abs and an 84 inch wingspan that would've been 2nd at the 2024 NFL combine.

He's taller, bigger, faster, stronger, and more athletic than Corcoran.
I mean do you know how many haven't?

Look I hope he's better than Corc and beats him out because Corc is not good, but it'd be a pretty stinking rare event for a redshirt freshman walkon to not be total shit at left tackle.

You’re going to need to post proof here. I have a very hard time believing the number of fcs tight ends playing tackle in the NFL, is higher than the number of HS five stars…. I still think Seagren is way better than people give him credit for.

The current 5star offensive tackle to nfl success rate is 19%.

The current fcs to tight end to nfl success rate is 46%

The current non 5- star to nfl tackle success rate is 89%.

It's the most difficult position to predict from high school to nfl.

I can tell you right now that Seagren is a lot more athletic that Corcoran who had 34 offered out of high school.

Honestly surprised there were 3.

I'm missing something here. No way do 46% of FCS TEs that end up playing OT in college go on to play in the NFL.

No idea what non 5 star to NFL tackle success rate means. No way do 89% of the 2, 3, and 4 star OTs play in the NFL.

I believe you 1, 4, and 5 sentences, but now way are 2 and 3 right the way they are written. I assume something is lost in translation.

Throwing a guess of an average of 4 5 star OT's per class (seems high but makes the math easy) over 12 years that's a 25% hit rate. I'd guess that's on the high side by position.

Of course I'm just making up numbers like @Cornicator
Rivals has had 111 5-star OL in 25 years. So your guess wasn't too far off, but actually a little low.
