It appears he accepted a preferred walk-on to Kansas, but then they fired their grass-tasting Corch. He's probably a walk-on for us to add depth, which would be great since we're a man down with Luke moving on.

Will be interesting to watch how ‘22 QB crootin plays out... do we take Torres’ commitment spring game weekend if MJ wants to go home and think about it?

Interesting dynamic with 2 QB’s on campus the same weekend and 1 spot available... edit: personally i’d be all for taking 2 QBs this class. Room is already pretty thin.

Especially true if Smothers gets jumped on the depth chart by Haarberg, I could possibly seeing him bounce out and taking 2 quality QBs is crucial.

Agreed. Will be really interesting to see how that battle turns out as it’s extremely important considering Martinez hasn’t been able to start an entire season since he has been here if it’s from injuries or being benched.

Based on this there is a good chance we see the backup this season in critical situations.

If Smothers isn't a clear 2 I would think Masker would be the first one in. If its any length of time I would think you'd see a Vedral/McCaffrey situation where you play Masker with series mixed in of Smothers or Haarberg running the ball. I don't think there's any chance Haarberg is playing anymore than a series here and there.
