Not much of a boxing guy, wasn't alive to see Mike in his prime, but I know enough to know that I hope like hell that he knocks Jake Paul into the year 2040 tonight. I will be watching

It’s hard not to see the fight as anything but a spectacle designed for show. Given Netflix’s involvement, a quick knockout seems unlikely—they'll likely draw it out for maximum drama and viewership. It’s a calculated payday for both fighters and a publicity boost, more entertainment theater than genuine competition.

I actually think if the fix is in - which of course it is. Doesn't Jake Paul's story need some sort of an opportunity for comeback? What better than to say "the only guy that could beat me was the Baddest of All Time" and then comeback and sell the next one against McGregor, get killed in that one, and laugh on a billion dollars.

That and Netflix will want to have additional Paul fights, although I don't know what other attractive fights he can line up against people that are noteworthy and he has an opportunity to beat. Line him up against any current prize fighters and the franchise is done for good.

Jake has already lost a fight

Correct. I feel like that was his first against a real (even though BAD) boxer that I remember. I don’t think that’s the fight in people’s minds when you think of his fighting career - it kinda gets skipped over

I fully believe that Paul will win but I heard someone else say that the best story is a Paul loss and then Logan fights Mike for the family redemption story. Then the 3 of them laugh at us as they rake in 100 million.

Not going to lie, I am shocked by the amount of people 40+ years old that are interested in this fight. Walked into a meeting today at work & all the old people were talking about there plans for the fight 😂

Of course. Tyson was a legend when I was in my 20's and 30's. I also think old men like us want to believe that there's still something in the tank for people our age. Tyson is 58 and I'm 57.

Tyson was known as the baddest of badasses and would consistently watch his fights because he typically destroyed people. Am I demented to want to see that? Probably why I love Crawford -- once he flips a switch it's a raw display of power and destruction.

Now I know why you call yourself big stick, you use a large walking cane.

Yeah I completely understand why they are. As a boxing fan I see this as more of a WWE event than a boxing match & I figured that plus him fighting Jake Paul might turn away the older folks but I must’ve been wrong.
