Trae Taylor transferring to Millard South

I often wondered about the rules there. If you can have unlimited staff places there's zero reason for Williams, Foley, etc., to not be out at these games. Especially MS the next few years.
Rules…my sweet summer child. Park Foley up there. He doesn’t do anything. /fin

It's every bit or even more likely that he has a shorter lifespan at NU than Dylan. There is enough time between now and signing day that he may not even end up on the team. NU could implode in 2026 and/or another school could outbid NU. I don't care about how much praise he has for NU, Dylan was the ultimate NU cheerleader and recruiter up until a few months ago.

Not saying that to be a pessimist, but saying it because I follow CFB in 2026.
Dylan was never a cheerleader or recruiter don’t make shit up

Right...the last thing this kid needs is to be closer to the fanbase. LOL.

Nebraska finally putting their big boy pants on. Too bad they didn't do it in time for the portal. It sucks but doing things the "Nebraska Way" isn't going to cut it anymore if you want to be competitive. It's a business now and it doesn't look like it's going back anytime soon.

Also are people mad that he's coming to Nebraska or that he's going to play for Millard South?

Trae Taylor's a good kid he's helped land Odem and Mpouma and others in the 26 class and most of the 27's with more to come. He might even help save Rhule's job if things go right.

I am actually a fan of going all in with NIL for the 2027 class over the 2026 portal. Rhule isn't going anywhere and they are still going to be pushing for a top 10 class by signing day in December.

Wonder how much money this kid and his family are getting to move. Assuming house and transportation are paid for
I tend to think he comes from a wealthy family. I mean, he attended and participated in each and every camp and event in Lincoln last summer. Came to every home game he could plus any weekend we had an important visitor. His parents didn't even tell him what the NIL offers were while he was choosing a school. Yes, he's probably already getting some NIL, but all signs point to his family being pretty well off.

Before NIL and the portal I would have cared way more about a commit like this, but most qbs flame out anyways and now you have the portal to make up for it. Hopefully he comes here and does well, but if he doesn’t atleast there are many options out there now.

Why are we bitching about this? Why is it a bad thing?
As much as CFB should never have been messed with as bad as it has, high school football should be messed with even less. Go to high school where you live and enroll when the time comes. Zero reason this should be happening.

LOL. "Don't make shit up" but by all means let's call him the "single most important recruit Nebraska has had in the past 25 years" and "think there is a great chance that 25 years from now people look back at him as the greatest QB who ever played at Nebraska."

Those are two actual quotes from this thread. Y'all have lost your GD minds.

Why are we bitching about this? Why is it a bad thing?
I'll tell you why. It's just my opinion.

This ,once again, is Nebraska trying to get ahead of the curve. Adapt or die. Be out ahead of everyone in recruiting. Marketing. "Branding" (fucking barf)

But, we've been down this road countless times. I remember the worthless power point game changing "NIL" thing we were supposedly first at doing in the country. All buzzwords no substance. Then we buffed recruiting by having a "collective". Then we had two collectives. You probably don't remember the second one. Because one year later we consolidated it to 1890. Once again us being at the forefront of recruiting strategy. Lately we've shuttered 1890 and are going "in house". The buzzwords get reinvented.

None of this shit usually has fuck all to do with actual football.

We do all this new wave shit and Cockeye doesn't then we play actual football and Cockeye wins by 30.

When is Nebraska gonna concentrate on football?

Final nail in the coffin of actual competition in Nebraska high school football.
It's not like this is new. Remember Christian LaCouture? He did the same thing, moving to Lincoln from Texas for his senior year back in 2012.
(He later decommitted and ended up at LSU)

Why are we bitching about this? Why is it a bad thing?
In a vacuum, this is a positive and will more than likely end up being beneficial for Nebraska.

Broadly, this is gross and not something I'd want to become the status quo. IMO, you can't bemoan that the transfer portal has "ruined college football" and then be okay with HIGH SCHOOL KIDS transferring routinely for money/recruiting purposes.
