Who in their right mind takes up smoking in this day & age? I get it if you’re already smoking - I watched my parents struggle to quit over the years - but the data is out there on cigarettes and only a fool would start that habit from scratch.

All I’m getting from your post is that dying from lung cancer is alpha and cool as fuck.

One of the advantages (or disadvantages) of being older is perspective. Badass doesn’t mean much when you’re puking your guts out following chemotherapy.

You’ve got a beautiful wife and an adorable son. Be there for them. Choosing them over cigarettes: now that’s badass.

My grandpa had COPD from smoking since he was 13 so bad that the last 2 years before he died couldn’t even walk like 10 feet without being out of breath (he was on oxygen)


Also I stopped smoking buddy. (Unless Nebraska ever wins a conference title, national title or even wins a NY6 bowl then Im gonna smoke a pack or more and I not even care)

Great to hear. I’m also jaded by taking care of my Dad, who suffers from COPD & Emphysema from smoking 2-3 packs a day up until 20+ years ago. He’s closing in on 93 next month, so to a degree he’s beat the odds, but it definitely changed his trajectory.
