Thoughts on the season

Are other P2 QBs really that bad at 20+? Felt like Raiola was hilariously bad at the deep balls.
He does not have the feel for it. Even HH and Purdy unleashed a few long balls that hit guys in stride last season for TD's. Did DR do that even once? He puts way too much air under them.

It's fixable. He's got the other tools so it's not too disheartening.

Yes, he did it multiple times. Needs to improve on it, but did hit a few, and early in the season also had a few receivers jogging on routes where the ball was placed well, as well as ones like the perfect deep ball to Neyor that he let get taken away.

I expect improved footwork, as well as better discipline out of the WR room to improve these connections, but IMO the consternation is overblown about what's always a lower percentage play.

DR was facing very different defenses compared to HH. DR would have completed a lot more deep balls if all he was seeing was 7-8 guys in the box and a single high safety all year.

What surprised me is that he's 2nd in attempts. Didn't feel like we took that many shots.

Wow. I knew it was bad but not south of Brosmer bad.

Yeah, I feel like people forget how comically bad our receivers were at times, half-assing their routes and dropping balls that should've been caught.

His completion percentage as 66% going into yesterday. Personally I've been a bit let down by his deep ball, which I think is largely due to his shitty mechanics, but he seems real good in the intermediate game. Maybe @Jim14510 has PFF passing chart stats that make me look like an idiot though
Certainly feels like we didn't really hit on a shot play over the last 8-9 games of the season. Would guess that most of Dylan's deep completions were 1. early in the year or 2. feathered throws in zone coverage (which is something DR excels at). Mix of some bad receiver play, protection issues, and over throws for why we couldn't hit during B1G play.

If that's true explain why Texas Tech hired the guy who was coaching them and called him one of the best under 30 coaches in America
Well he is coaching RBs now at TT. Maybe his own dad didn't want him coaching WR anymore. 🤣

Probably just getting him some more experience at a different position though.
