Appreciate your takes true. Hindsight is 20/20 and that’s especially true this season. Who could have foreseen our kickers/punters single-handedly losing us 3 games against top 10 opponents, or the same team that should have beaten 3 or 4 top 10 opponents also shitting the bed against Illinois, Minnesota, and Purdue. Although the Purdue loss doesn’t look as bad today as it did last week.

Quite literally anyone who watched the previous three seasons with even a hint of objectivity.

Overarching theme of your thread is 100% spot-on, but much like message board posting, it’s completely irrelevant to all that ails this program right now. The problems are within and at the top. They have been from the start.

We do the same thing with our political beliefs. We follow people on Twitter and Facebook whose beliefs align with ours. TikTok has an algorithm that does that for the user. And in the end, it pulls us further to the right or further to the left.

I disagree on we won’t be worse for it - we’ve got like the 75th ranked class coming in this year, and a probable lame duck coach is going to have a pretty hard time selling the future to improve that moving forward. Another losing season brings us that much closer to irrelevancy (although 5 in a row, 4 under Frost) certainly has us there already

I really don’t Irrelevancy is something we have to worry about with our fan base. There’s been much shittier programs that were much shittier for much longer that brought themselves out of that. I think of programs like Baylor or even Indiana not all that long ago and those are just two off the top of my head. I’m not interested in going that route but it’s certainly not the death sentence some make it out to be.

I can't think of too many people who assume that the majority opinion of the board is the opinion of the average fan and the powers at be. I think most are probably acutely aware of that point.

Frost will be retained or he will be fire and I'll either root for him to prove me wrong or for the next guy to rebuild the offense and special teams while leveling up Chin's defense. The constant lowering of the bar for Frost makes me believe for the first time in the last 20 or so years that it really is over and it's not coming back, but I'll be here until the rapture win, lose, or draw

I think that if he stays and we see similar stuff next year and finish below .500 it will be obvious to the passionate and non passionate fans alike.

Firing him now will cause a lot of division from the average fan all the way up to the biggest donors. And that’s a major consideration that Turd needs to take into account.

I think we hire a couple new assistants and hope it comes together next year. We might “get over the hump” or we might not. But if we don’t, it will be abundantly clear and we won’t be much worse for it.

For the record this is what I think Turd will be thinking. Because, like what others have mentioned, our individual opinions don’t matter.

Frost has got more rope than any Husker coach in modern history. He should have been fired after the covid year. If we are divided over keeping a 3 win coach in year 4 with no bowl appearances our fan base is the biggest group of retards. It’s hard to have much hope for a guy who still blames the prior staff for his problems and doesn’t think it’s his job to motivate players.
