HES isn’t about being blind to poor performance, questionable hires, roster management, or anything else for that matter.
For me it’s really about having control over my emotions and not being an emotionally feeble person who isnt able to have a balanced approach to what we see and experience.
It’s about having a reality based mindset that recognizes the nuances of supporting a college sports program. Understanding that, yes I want to win every football game convincingly, want the program to be CFP relevant every year, and also recognizing that’s not where we are AND I’m not going to base my emotional sanity and well being on it either.
You don’t have to like some of the outcomes to also appreciate other outcomes.
You don’t have to be excited about current status and act the fool, crash out, and generally not be able to control your emotional state of being.
While very frustrating at times, I choose to have a mindset that looks for the positive even when there may be small doses of it.
The angry, crash out, everything and everyone is dog shit, I know better than everyone who’s ever been at the helm of UNL athletics mentality peeps…As miserable as that may be…you do you.
