Probably need to restructure the HES. @Lionsfan93 as the Godfather of this society, what say you?
I had some personal stuff pop up a few months back and told Garrett that I needed to step away from the board for awhile. But, over the last few weeks, I began lurking a bit again. This seems as good of a time as any to make my return.

My brothers, this wasn’t the ending. It was only a page.

What we witnessed this year—frustrations included—was still forward motion. The program took real steps in the right direction. Maybe not the big, crowd-pleasing strides we dreamed of back in August, but steps all the same. A foundation strengthened. A culture clarified. Young players grew. Mistakes became lessons instead of habits. Trajectory matters, and ours is inching upward.

The Happy Ending Society exists for times exactly like this. Not to ignore reality, but to remind ourselves and others that a journey is defined by its direction, not by a single stumble. The road back to joy isn’t always a straight line, but those who stay on it long enough eventually get where they’re going.

So take heart. The story continues. The next chapter is unwritten, and happiness still awaits those who persevere long enough to see it.

And we will.

Onward, friends. The Happy Ending is still out there...

I remind myself a lot in my own personal and professional development that progress isn’t always linear. I think the same can be applied here.

Cockeye and PSU were disappointing, but Nebraska was 6-2 and up on USC when we lost out starting QB for the last 3 1/2 games. UCLA was a nice win that gave me some optimism, but its tough for me to be too critical when our starting QB was out. The entire offense for 2025 was built around him. How are the following teams doing if we lose our starting QB for the last 3 1/2 games?

2001

OU - It was 13-10 in the 3rd. Would have lost Crouch before the Black 41, could have potentially lost this game
KU - would have beat them, they were terrible
KSU - Won 31-21. Are we beating KSU with sophomore Jamal Lord here?
CU - Lost to them big already

2005

OU - Lost already
KU - Lost already
KSU - Likely lost with Harrison Beck
CU - We wont 30-3, are we doint that with Harrison Beck

Could have finished regular season 6-6 opposed to 8-4

2012

MSU - Ron Kellog prbably isnt bring us back
PSU - RK probably not beating PSU
Minnesota - Probably could have won Minnesota
Cockeye - Nebraska won 13-7, so toss up

Nebraska is looking at an 8-4 or maybe 7-5 instead of 10-2?

We will never know how Raiola would have done had he not been injured, but at the end of the day we lost our starting for the last 4 games. I dont know if we have to say burn this mother down due to that. Nebraska isnt at the point to where w can plug in play QBs to get to 9 wins.

Very disappointing end to the season. But that is pretty much what I expected after Raiola went down. UCLA was a tease, but glad Nebraska got the W.

@HuskerGarrett can we get a secret "back entrance" thread that is only visible to those members of the HES, where we can celebrate without the Sandy Vag interrupting?
What’s the fun in that? I get a kick out of the HES coming over to Sandy Vag HQ and giving us shit after a win. The door should swing both ways.

I just think it would be cool to have access to different threads based on banners/tags.
