"My goal was to get a sub-4.5," said Genatone, who was the Class A state wrestling champ at 195 pounds. He also posted a time of 10.87 seconds in the 100 meters this spring.
He's somewhat new to the Nebraska high school sports scene, with his family having moved to North Platte from Casper, Wyoming, last June due to his dad's job. But people are starting to take notice at the numbers that keep getting attached to his name.
Offers are currently on the table from Southern Miss, Montana and Northern Arizona, but others are showing interest. A busy man this June, Genatone was driving back from Lincoln on Friday, ready to head to Utah State still this weekend.
"Coach Frost was telling me today that they might have me come in as a safety, and then if I put on weight and get bigger they'd move me down to inside linebacker, outside backer," Genatone said.
