Yeah, I didn't see the commencement speech, and don't doubt that it was bad, but it would also be hard-pressed to be worse than that explosive diarrhea of an article.

The guy who gave the speech was obviously unstable, but the point he was making wasn't wrong. I actually kind of liked it...he didn't give the typical schtick about "go out and make the world a better place." He gave practical advice.
