Teams we have more Quad 1 wins than...

Let’s be real, we are a hot team now but we got boat raced in a lot of games early. We aren’t making the dance and that’s ok. This is a huge step forward for the team and maybe next year we can make a run
People forget how fucking horrible we were, you can’t be dog shit for 2/3 of the season and expect to be a high NET team

Next years team loses a ton. With walker Greisel and most like tominaga all leaving, that’s practically the entire offensive production gone from this team

Yet we sit at 92 in the NET rankings...

We are getting hurt really badly by our Offensive Efficiency and Scoring Margin.

On a side note, they always want this stupid quadrant system but I think they need to find a way to weight it. There's a big difference between beating the 75th ranked team on the road and the 1st ranked team. Those shouldn't be in the same column.

Horrible? We went 8-6 in non-conference vs. the 6th toughest schedule in the country, and 3 of those losses were without Walker. Worst BIG loss was against Illinois when Gary got hurt and they ended the game on a huge run. Not sure what you were watching...

Just saying, that’s a big part for me atleast why I don’t want the dream to end for this teams run. They are a ton of fun to watch, and almost all of what makes them fun is gone for next year
With the right portal additions, anything is possible, Lawrence and Gary will be back, and Tominaga is not a given. We only had walker coming back this year of guys that played major minutes. I think Fred finally found a blueprint that works in the BIG...now he needs to recruit to it.

we lost almost the entire Offensive Production from last years team outside of Walker, yet it was replaced. Unfortunately 3 of the 4 key additions have been hurt for over half the season (Bandoumel, Gary, Keita). We have more coming back next season than this season even if Keisei goes pro. Lawrence, Gary & Keita are a good start. If HCFH was able to add 3 quality transfers like Bandoumel, Gary & Greisel last season what makes you think he can't do it again after this season?

Didn’t say that great it’s not so much I don’t like where the program is heading, more the fact I don’t want to just punt on the rest of this season and the bitching about where we are rated because this team has been a lot of the fun the last month and the parts that have made it fun are pretty much all gone for next year.

Priority 1 for next year has to be making sure Lawrence stays right?
Looking at his offers out of high school... I don't think we have much to worry about. Obviously, there will be new teams probably in his ear, but I don't think he would leave one of the few P5 teams that offered him (looking at his 247 profile).

Have you watched him play the last few weeks? Tom Izzo heaped praise on him after the MSU game...I guarantee there are coaches taking notice when they watch us on film.

I'm agreeing with you that teams will be in his ear... lol

So the NET weighs the scoring margin in your losses, which is fucking dumb IMO. All losses are not created equal, and some big margin losses do not tell the whole story.

Whatever...CBB is fucking dumb in the way it ranks teams. It doesn't take a formula to know which teams are playing well at this point of the year. Rutgers is like 2-5 since they lost a starter and are playing shit basketball, but they are still on the bubble.

NET is like something the Frost apologists would puff their chests out about b/c I am sure NU would have had an amazing NET with the close losses.

I was basing my initial response off of his high school offers. I don't think he would transfer to any of those schools.

My initial worry is a team from the Northeast, where he is from, particularly Seton Hall. It looks like Holloway offered him while he was still at Saint Peter's.

Hoiberg earned major respect by the way he handled the final 8 games or so this season. When Bandoumel and Gary went down we were without 2 starters. And at that point it looked like Keita was out for the year. So you're down 2 starters + your best rebounder off the bench. And the team was already thin to begin with.

I told all my NU friends/family that there was zero reason to watch this NU team w/out Gary, Bandoumel and Keita. I actually expected the team to go 0-8 in those final 8 games. I'm beyond shocked Hoiberg got the team to 9-11 in the B1G. With this depleted roster. If we're being real, you'd have to say that what Hoiberg did with this depleted roster in the last 1.5 months has to be one of the most impressive things he's accomplished in coaching. That was some of the best scrambling/coaching on the fly I think I've ever seen.

If Hoiberg can do that, I have zero doubt he can put together an NCAA team next year. My only disclaimer would be that it's probably gonna be another slow start to the season w all the new faces. And that's something Fred needs to fix at some point.

He’s the problem, net Is algorithmic and not an eye test and doesn’t take into account injuries. Nebraska 264th in offensive efficiency and 152nd In defensive efficiency both are poor numbers. Losing to a sub 100 net St. John by 20 (even though on the road) hurts, the 10 point win to a sub 200 Queens doesn’t help either. Nebraska is also getting hurt by with big home losses to Illinois and northwestern. Don’t get me wrong, Nebraska Is HOT and should be in the NIT, and IMO net is a terrible metric, But when you break down what goes into NET it’s really not that hard to understand why they are where they are, once you are in a NET hole it’s very hard to climb out
