Taylor/Ellis transferring to Millard South

I think we're missing a golden opportunity here... Ole Buffet won't donate his money to NIL to buy us a team. From all accounts, he's all about the education side of things...

So, we pitch him a philanthropic was to create the Buffett Magnet School for Business, where we target poor youth from disadvantage backgrounds, giving them scholarships and housing to attend. Of course, any school needs extra curricular activities, so they just so happen to offer football and basketball as an outlet to these young men.

Win-Win...

So is high school football just a total waste of time for everyone other than the super team(s)? I haven't paid attention at all in years but obviously I absolutely loved going to my school's games at the time, do students bother going to glorified beatdown scrimmages?

To win a Class A state championship, yes total waste of time. Everyone is just competing to 1) be on opposite of bracket to Millard South and 2) make it to the finals. We (Lincoln North Star) should have been on the other side of the beat down in the Class A finals. Our QB ran the wrong play on our 2 point conversion vs Papio South for the go ahead conversion. Runs the correct play, we win that game and good chance of playing in the finals.

Outside of MS and the bottom 12 or so teams last fall, class A was pretty competitive. Basically 2-20 wildcard points leaders were good games.

For fan support, those bottom 12 teams bring small crowds and barely, if any students to games home and for sure away. Teams in the middle bring ok crowds and lots of students especially against other teams in that range. Class A doesn't have quite the school spirit as Class B and lower schools.

Aleady been trending this way in HS baseball. Recruiting, open enrollment is making the same 5 teams dominant.

Do these kids not have parents who have jobs? And idk like to see them?
Maybe they’re getting jobs too?
Nebraska is desperate or trying a new way to entice kids to committing to Nebraska.

I can see this blowing up in their face. Paying kids all this money and Rhule could get fired at any moment
Have you seen his buyout? He’s ground for at least two more seasons imo. I’ll bet DB’s new crypto Escalade on it!

I wouldn't be surprised if Trae Taylor's dad gets a job at Millard South he's been Trae's coach his whole life. I believe he's the OC of Trae's team in Illinois.

His Dad and Tony Romo were the stars of the Eastern Illinois football team about 25 years ago. JR Taylor was the RB. This is from 2016
