Taylor/Ellis transferring to Millard South

Quinn Ewers moved to Ohio so he could start getting NIL $$ while in HS while he was committed to Ohio State. At the time Texas didn't allow NIL while still in HS.
Quinn played his entire high school career at Southlake Carroll in Dallas metroplex.

He reclassified to graduate early and enroll at Ohio state.

It's only 6 months, so one parent could move here. If the player is already at age of majority., no parent is needed. Could also find people to board minor players until they go to UNL in January.
Can they? Isn't that why Millard South got in trouble last year and had to forfiet their opening game? Because player(s) from Kansas City were staying with a coach?
I suppose establishing legal guardianship would be a way around this.

Parents more than likely won't move here or get jobs. MS and Westside will just continue doing what they have been for a while, have the athletes live with host families or coaches.

They just need to be here in May through December, graduate, then early enroll at Nebraska.
This is not allowed. That's how the MS coach was suspended last season.

To your bolded... Wouldn't any school taking a zero star recruit drive their rating down across the entire country? Why is it an asterisk for Nebraska? Cockeye has a zero star recruit and is sitting 6th in average rating.
because we only have 11 recruits a zero star has a bigger impact on the average. Actually, very few schools in P4 have a zero star. Once they sign, they are usually bumped up (typically to 3 star in On3 and 2 star in 247). I'd imagine the Vegas kid gets bumped up when he signs 2/4.

That's right. I remember there being talk of him transferring HS, then decided to re-classify instead.

You need to be a legal resident of the state Nebraska for this, I believe. So, whatever gets you there would suffice.

I think if you live with a family and pay them room and board, you're likely okay from a residency perspective. I know in the opposite situation the University of Michigan was trying to argue my son wasn't eligible for in-state tuition (he had spent 6 months in Sweden playing junior hockey and paid a family to board him.) They finally caved because he had never changed his voter's registration, gotten a new driver's license, or changed his mailing address - other indicia of residency.

It would be hard for the state to argue these guys aren't resident if they change these things and have an intent when they move here of staying here for college.

Yet those kids were still eligible and still lived at the same house the remainder of the season. Joe Glab missed some paperwork hence the suspensions and fines. If filed proper paperwork from the beginning, there wouldn't have been an issue.

If this staff can sell kids on coming to spend an extra year of their teens in Nebraska, maybe there’s hope.

So is high school football just a total waste of time for everyone other than the super team(s)? I haven't paid attention at all in years but obviously I absolutely loved going to my school's games at the time, do students bother going to glorified beatdown scrimmages?

yeah, my son played AAA in Detroit. There were 5-6 AAA teams, so he did not have to live away from home. But teams had kids from all over the US, and even from Canada and Russia.
