Spring Game HAWWT take reaction thread

Here's my personal opinion. He's said from Day 1 that he is paid to win in the fall. He said that in his first Recruiting presser. I genuinely don't think he cares enough like that to put on a Spring Game like that for essentially a public practice. Regardless of how many, fans are going to show up anyway to it. The program knows that. The Spring Game sucked, but if we're all being honest it means absolutely nothing other than enjoying a nice day in the stadium. The Oklahoma game is a day to bring out all the entertaining stops, not the Spring Game. If any recruits took anything serious out of that 2 hour practice then they are dumb. They've already met the coaches, seen private practice, watched film, yada yada. They get it.

Yeah I hear that. If we WERE winning in the fall I would have no complaints haha. But it just feels like the fans are being taken for granted lately. Four straight losing seasons and it's still like "Sorry folks, we expect you to be in the stands but we're gonna make this intentionally boring. You understand."

For sure. No argument there. Unfortunately, only way that changes and for the program to realize it, is if people stop showing up. And that would take a significant number of people.

So my 10 year old didn't get to watch Saturday with me and his older brother so he wanted me to sit down and watch it again with him. Which was brutal, but ya don't tell a 10 year old no.

I think after re-watching it, I came away with a little different impression.

Year 5 of having the same DC, DB, ILB and having a DL coach that is there for his 3rd season...I don't think the defense takes as big of a step back as some think. I full expect Henrich, Reimer, Nelson and Tannor to be very very formidable. I think Fisher has a lack of experience issue but not a lack of knowledge issue because of the stability back there. If the DL can be decent, and I realize that's a big if....this defense will be just fine.

Offensively it was just impossible to get a decent look. Two hand touch favors the defense, obviously. Both tackles out. And they ran the most mundane offense of all time. Offensive tackle is the panic button that could be hit early in the season.

Give me a Fuckikg break. And only getting half the calls….lol. They don’t need half the play call anyways. The excuses are terrible.

That’s the problem. He still can’t figure out 5 years in that you can’t turn a competitive switch on and off. If you don’t care about the spring game don’t waste a practice to make the fans happy. Also- your 15-27….no one cares how or what you do in the spring game, they know how to beat you.

Won’t argue second half there. First half though, If there’s no spring game, the state riots. Say what we want on a message board but that’s true. FWIW, Spring Game sucked. But it’s a glorified practice for the fans and players to feel a little something in the stadium. Will not judge peoples coaching abilities over it

Michigan made the playoff last year. They had like 12 fans at their spring game. Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t think their fan base is losing their mind over it
