Interesting. I was slotting Stewart as a depth piece seeing legit snaps this year at safety. I wonder if this is a move to let him see the field more this year given Safety is crowded with a bunch of seniors, AND good young depth, while ILB is limited with Christian Jone, Dylan Rogers, and Roger Gradney as the youth fighting for snaps. Could be how we red shirt Jones and give Stewart the 50-100 snaps this year he was likely to get.
I'll take it. Bringing a hard hitting safety down to LB was a good strategy to add speed to the field in the glory years. I'm all for returning to that one.

Jones may actually be faster. Stewart was something like a 4.7 40 coming out of HS. He is something of a tweener - safety instincts and hips; LB speed. So, is he a slower safety or a smallish LB?

I think we are seeing this On 3 scouting report from his recruiting days being proved correct:

Jones ran an 11.08 100M as a junior - that's about equivalent to a 4.6 40.

Wisconsin under 5.5. 😁

And three B1G teams at 11 wins or better.

Stewart is kind of an interesting story at one point he was a 4 Star Rivals100 (#84) with offers from the top schools. A lot of the analysts had him picked to go to A&M. Then I don't know what happened and Rhule was able to pick him up. I tried to ask a couple times what the deal was but no answers.

The only thing I could come up with is maybe he peaked early? I think most of his offers came when he was a sophomore. Then schools backed off his senior year?

4-Stars (Rivals) from Nebraska out or limited -
2021 - Teddy
2023 - Gottula
2024 - Nelson
2025 - Terry, Booth?, Jones

Honorable Mention 2023 3-Star - Noonan

Transferred -
2023 - Coleman
2024 - Hall

Dishonorable Mention 2022 3-Star - Hausmann

So at this moment every* 4-Star (Rivals) from Nebraska since 2021 that is/was on the team is either out, limited, or transferred.

*Booth, I think he had some ankle/knee injuries? so I'm not sure if he's back 100% or not.

There was more 4 stars than what you have listed right? Always seems like there's a lot of people out in the spring.

These were all the 4-Stars from Nebraska on Rivals since 2021at Nebraska. I think there were others on the different sites like Mooberry for instance. Of course I just thought it was crazy that it looked like they were all out/limited at the same time.

What happened was he didn't grow, and as a result interest in him was falling off in his senior year. As you put it, he peaked (relative to other players) early.

I saw footage of Booth catching passes in the 4 QB drill, so he appears to be fine.
