Sponsor Interest?

We are currently looking for a potential sponsor for our tailgate. Our tailgate has continued to grow over the years, so we have thought about exploring potential sponsors. Not exactly sure what that would look like since we have never looked to seek sponsors for our tailgate, but I just know that we would like to open it up for a potential sponsor due to expanding our tailgate spots. I know our current lot may only be there for about 4-5 more years due to the construction of a parking lot for the Drury Hotel. If/when that happens, then we are looking to continue the tailgate in another area. I believe we talked about the North side of the stadium. If anyone is interested or know someone who might want to sponsor a tailgate, then please don't hesitate to reach out. Pretty much all the members of the tailgate group do all the grunt work, so it wouldn't really be an any extra work/responsibilities unless the sponsor wants to help out. I do appreciate all you came and supported us previously.

Out of curiosity what are you looking for in $?

Right now there is about 8 - 10 of us who split the cost of all 5 spots. Last year, I believe the spots were around $1,500 a piece. It is a prime location, so it usually goes up every year. We also split all the food beverages for the week. We also would like to obtain more spots, if possible. We really don't have figure in mind. We really were just putting feelers out there. Anything helps and I'm sure we all would help spreading the sponsor around, such getting sponsor merchandise and using it for tailgates. I'm not really sure. Our tailgates have been pretty good, but we are getting a little tight on space due to the increase of people stopping by. I know the tailgate next us is Mead umber and they have tents that say Mead Lumber on them, but I'm not quite sure what else they do. Maybe the guy that pretty much is a head of our tailgate knows more because he usually socializes with all the tailgates around us.

You know something weird...I've never really tailgated before.

I grew up going to mostly high school and local D2 games every weekend and an annual trip to the Cotton Bowl. Not really a tailgating scene and my dad is not the type of guy to tailgate (he's not super social and I'm 42 years old and never seen him drink a drop of alcohol in my life).


My oldest son (14) and I go to maybe 1 Husker game a year and we like to see the teams warm up so we try to get to our seats an hour before kick off. We have no ties to Nebraska at all so when we go we literally only know each other at the games. But many times we've gotten to Lincoln 3 hours before kickoff and have been like "welp what do we do now?" We end up just walking around not doing anything.

People say "just walk up to a tailgate and start a conversation" but that can't be how it really works. And that definitely isn't a strong suit of mine.

Always wanted to try the experience. This isn't a plea for someone to invite us to a tailgate...just have never told anybody that before.
