Anyone noticing any slower speeds on the board over these past few days? I’ve noticed every now and then it takes a little longer to load but didn’t know if it’s just me

Follow up, does anyone know more about web hosting?

We are currently on GoDaddy and have 1 virtually allocated CPU core and 2gb of ram. The next step up is 4 virtually allocated cores and 8gb of ram for an extra $30/month. Does anyone know if that sounds like something we could use and if it’s worth it? Or if we should move to a different host completely?

Typically speeds are good, but random horrible slowness.

I'm not a web hosting guru, but I don't hear a lot of favorable comments about GoDaddy.

That’s how mine has been. After I posted this thread it’s been super quick of course

It comes and goes. Probably slow about 30-40% of the time. Seems to be at random times

There is a “discourage” feature built into Xenforo which makes their speeds slow and pops up random error pages. Basically a way to ban someone by making them want to leave. We’ve never used it here but I thought that was interesting and I wonder how often RSS used to use it.

If I visit and the site is struggling, I immediately think the coach has been leaked and everybody is having a ball talking about it while I wait for the site to load.

I upgraded to the 4 virtually allocated CPUs and the 8gb of ram. Hopefully it's just blazing all the time now

Were you sufficiently discouraged? Evidently not.
