Besides CT, Smothers is also having surgery. So both will be out until after spring game.

Also, Purdy also has some sort of healing to do (I think foot injury). Therefore, we definitely need Simms and Hornsby. Zach Carpenter and Nate Clouse both think we land Hornsby besides Simms.

Simms reminds me of KU's Jaylon Daniels.

My totally probably not gonna happen wishcasting idea is that since Sims is a 3 to play 2 guy that he sits behind Casey this year and sees action only in the last 4 games so as to technically redshirt while learning the offense. Then he'll have two full years as starter while Dylan Raiola learns the offense.

Dylan Raiola would not be sitting on the bench for 2 years

As @herbsinator said, I don’t think Raiola will sit for 2 years. So I’d tweak it to “Sims is named day one starter on 2024, but Raiola gets some play. After four games, if it’s close, we switch to Dylan with Sims a decent backup. If Sims is the clear leader, then we kick the can on this plan one more year.”

Like TC said, this isn’t what is being felt. CT has an injury so we need a backup plan and all game tape shows that it isn’t Purdy. There is a possibility that CT can’t play next year, or isn’t healthy by week 1. All scenarios we should be prepping for.
