Jeff Sims: ASU starting QB?

I don't know that there is a better test to confirm the existence of The Simulation
My $.02 is I actually think it's more about pressure than the actual game. I think Sims could go to Montana and if he got comfortable he could do some crazy #s like 3,000 yd passing / 1,000 yds rushing vs that competition (I'm exaggerating).

As far as Ga Tech, literally zero people give a fuck about GT football. And he started cleaning up his turnovers his last season there. But Nebraska is 1000x the pressure of GT. We have fan pressure, local media pressure, national media pressure, NIL pressure, booster pressure, etc

My question is where does ASU rank in this? Bc no one cares about ASU FB nationally and only a few people care locally. And they're in a minor league conference now. If Sims starts tearing it up there that will be confirmation that ASU program is basically the minor leagues. Bc Sims can only be successful in a minor league environment where there is zero pressure.

I think he should've been moved to Outside Linebacker when he was 15 years old. Would've solved a lot of issues. I realize what you're saying, but I would argue he's never been a real QB. And that reality has led to his on field anxiety and trepidation.

Its one thing to lack confidence. Its a whole other thing to lack confidence because you know you suck, and everyone else knows you suck.

Yeah, you're probably right. I remember seeing his original GT highlight video and being completely underwhelmed. And then surprised that Rhule was talking him up as a high potential QB.

I think we (Husker fans) were fooled by the initial GT coaches thinking Sims was a high potential QB and then Rhule confirming it. Then our NIL dumps $600k to the kid.

Amidst the Rhule lovefest we all have, I'm reminded that he still put all his eggs in the Jeff Sims basket. It will certainly be 1000% forgiven if this yr is successful but again, wow, how did that happen. And, oh how was Rhule repeatedly ass-raped by that bad decision every fuckin week last season. Maybe that's why we've all forgiven Rhule for that terrible decision - he was already punished by it in the form of Heinrich fuckin Haarberg last year. We're letting Rhule out on time served lol.

Probably the highlight of his year at Nebraska and he still created a fumble/loose ball situation

But man that ball really zipped
That is really a tough play to call. That ball has to be absolutely zipped from the RB back to the QB. You gave to have a really athletic QB to pull that off and there's a shit ton that could go wrong.

Hopefully now that we have DR we won't need to call any of those high risk/high reward plays this yr

A big part of this is that there were no QBs in the portal last season who were actually worth a shit who they could have landed. The good ones knew exactly where they were going and that was like Hartmann and the kid who went NC State to Kentucky (Leary?).

Jeff is obviously a great locker room and culture guy and while he was catastrophically bad here, he was trending in the right direction at GT. And yeah you look at his physical tools and you go holy shit if that guy isn't the worst QB in America at the turning the football over there might be something here.

But for me at least, Rhule was tasked with unfucking a very fucked QB room and that wasn't going to be a year job. Should he have been less effusive in his praise of Jeff? Maybe but also the kid needed all the confidence we could give him and still that wasn't enough

Yeah, i think your last line is right on. What else was he going to say? "Yeah Jeff has all the physical tools, but man he's kind of a head case. He chokes when he gets in game and makes terrible decisions." He had to try and build him up as much as he could.

Sounds like it wasn't the Simulation. Sims still turning the ball over. Their OL isn't very good either though.
