Breaking SI Thinks Dyl, effed up...

Wonder how much Dom fucked up for him. Had all the leverage he wanted when Dylan’s talent in hs was undeniable.

Could use that against one hs to another then Nebraska/tOSU/Georgia & after ucla, Dom decided it was time to pull the same tactics.

Unfortunately coaches know what is on tape & will think fuck off real quick if daddy is being overly aggressive in demands. Especially if Dylan is no longer considered elite.

I was actually "in the room" at Blockbuster HQ in Dallas, TX as part of a multi-partner solutions team when they conveyed this news to us. "We've decided to renew our focus on our in-store experience" was the line they uttered when we asked what happened to the "Movies.com" executive that was in the room with us two weeks ago when we made our initial pitch, as our combined solution was very forward looking (at the time) in the sense that it strongly promoted a customer-centric approach across multiple channels.

The amount of "furtive glances" that went around the room following that statement may have set an all-time record. We were flabbergasted and frankly, completely right about the nincompoops that lead that company straight off the cliff. We had a nearly identical experience with the same team at Sears. Sometimes ... you just know: these people are too stupid for us to save them.
My team was contacted by Enron to build the content delivery system for this. Settop and services layers to the nCube video servers. Lots f work in Denver and The Houston tower. Then Enron cancelled it all and went under. Blockbuster had previously told Netfix, Media One, and comcast to f off, they didn’t need them. They were screwed.

Really there is no way he could, or should be allowed to come back on the same terms. If at all.

Issues with him (allegedly) changing too many plays, not pulling the trigger on down field throws, the appearance of ‘me’ first, family/father over involvement, declaring and quitting the team, and would expect he’d want to come back the guaranteed starter the the same payment value…

It’s disappointing, all of it, and him coming back just couldn’t lead to a healthy, productive culture.

He walked. It doesn’t matter if he truly wanted to and was led by his father or outside pressures…he walked.

Maybe if he was the second string RB or like EJ last year, I could see it. He was however, the franchise player and face of the program. He decided to take his toys and go home.

You can’t take him back and expect there to be any respect for the culture of the program.

Some of you would take this circus back? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

To be clear, if I had to choose I'd take Raiola over Chiles, but I don't want either one of them.

I mean there was barely ANY outcry from fans when Raiola announced he was going into the portal, I think people fully understand the situation was just a bad fit whether they know the ins and outs and behind the scenes or not.

What's interesting to me is that despite Raiola winning more games per year than Adrian Martinez, we've collectively reached that 'ready to move on' point more quickly with Raiola than we did with Martinez.

I’d say the truth is usually somewhere in the middle brother. Maybe Rhule meant what he said to DR before he committed. And what if the reality of that was a lot more difficult when you don’t have a backup QB with a pulse?

IMO, and this is just me connecting the dots from 10,000 ft. I think Rhule probably wanted to treat Dylan like any other player on the roster. But with him being a top 10 national recruit, his dad a Husker HOFer and his uncle as the Oline coach, it was pretty much impossible.

Now is it at partially Rhule’s fault that he had no backup QB and zero leverage over the Raiola’s… yes. But not even hometown Danny Kaelin wanted to be at Nebraska with no chance of starting unless DR transferred or got injured.

I don’t necessarily think Rhule bending to the Raiola’s makes him a fast talking charlatan. But it’s certainly not proof he isn’t. He is a fast talker…

We weren't in the full blown free agency era then and AM didn't quit on us.

It’s because in this new age…we can move on faster. An entire portal of QBs wanting to get paid in a new location makes it so.

Unless he is a complete locker room cancer, I would take him back. I'm sure he a prima donna to a degree, but that comes with the territory with a lot of 5 stars. Maybe its jut a situation where he has an overbearing Dad and less about Dylan, who knows.

What I do know is that he is really good. He isn't perfect, but he pretty dang good. We cannot go into next season with Lateef as the starter or an unknown that competes with Lateef as a starter. Maybe it would work out, but thats a huge risk in Year 4. We need a legit QB. And I dont think there are many at Raiola level.

He is a good QB. If he gets a good OL and progresses a little bit he can potentially be very good to great. Maybe a little adversity would help him. All that said, doubt it happens, but I would listen short of him being a huge cancer.

Going back a few pages, but do people really not remember Crouch quit because at that point he did not think he had a path to play QB here, it’s what he wanted and didn’t want to full time switch positions, and was about to become a father so if he couldn’t play QB he was going to find a job to support a child?
