...do anything right?

Everyone accepted the fact that our defense was going to regress from last year, but not to the point where they play like a division II defense that makes any QB and RB look like Heisman finalists.

Yes, SF and Chin are done, but if Chin was given the go ahead to scheme like there is no tomorrow, what can he do? What defense adjustments can he fix so we don't give up easy yardage? Who can he substitute now to just let them make big but also boneheaded plays?

Chin schemes how he likes to scheme. He is a zone guy who likes to be "multiple" with LB's flexed out in coverage. It's a matchup nightmare for us though, as without a Jo Jo and a solid D Line, this soft style gets torn up by any competent opposing OC. Too many non-playmakers on the field. D Line can't stop the run, can't get pressure, OLB's and secondary have proven they can't cover in space well, or hell even tackle worth a shit.

The talent on D is down, Chins scheme makes it worse though.

IMO, they don't adjust much. They go in with their plan, and don't change a lot, despite what is happening in the game. "Well, we're playing an air raid team, so we better make sure we play over the top, zone defense to take away the big plays." Proceed to get chipped away at with the run game and screen game to death.

On the last GS TD, they're inside the 10, and we're still playing zone coverage, 4 over 3 receivers, playing 5 in the box vs 6 players in the box on offense. I just don't understand things like that.

Can Chin not count the numbers in the box? I'm not football coach, but I think having 5 lineman on 4 defensive lineman (really 2 DTs and 2 OLBs) seems like an unfavorable match up when your linebackers are 10 yards off the LOS.
