Sappy ass post

In my experience girls are easier until the teenage years hit. My oldest daughter is almost 17 now. Far and away my most difficult child now. She was super easy as a baby.

My 15 year old son was more difficult as a baby up until they got to about 14 and 12. Then it was a hard reversal.
Most nervous about this to be honest. I only have a girl cousin in my immediate family and the rest are boys. I'm an only child. Pretty much clueless on raising a girl. I have a very thin patience with a lot of things and I just feel like I need to be better about that as my daughter gets older. I see it in my buddy's 3 year old and god damn does she push limits with him.

Everyone says boys are easier, I wish I knew wtf they are talking about. Girls my sons age always seem thoughtful, more emotionally aware, organized and to give a shit about their things. My boy on the other hand is a walking tornado that destroys everything he touches.

Congrats! Enjoy!
At a young age I think girls are easier. They are more independent. Boys seem to be more needy. My tune will probably change in the teens.

Update on sappiness, the little one is in her “swing” base thing, idk it swings and plays music for babies. She can see her reflection in the mirror part of the toy where the swing pendulums from, and I caught her smiling at herself…..amazing moment. She is now passed out cold.

Have a great evening everyone

My baby girl just turned 7 weeks old on Monday. She's figuring new things out every single day. She's at the point where she knows who me and mom are and smiles when she sees us. I do want a boy at some point but man it's pretty damn cool and fulfilling seeing your baby smile at you like that every day.

I don't like to get sappy on here or in life very often at all but I know I've talked about parenting on here before and just feeling real good about things right now.

Carry on boys and girls!
Good stuff man…good stuff. Love her up and enjoy every minute. It all goes by very fast.

This isn’t sappy but my 4 year old boy just kicked me in the chest. I told him next time I’m going to whoop his ass.

Bumping this thread. Baby girl is 2 and a half months old, just rolled over from her stomach to her back for the first time today! While time doesn't really feel like it's gone that fast, at the same time it does. Amazing how the first few weeks we dealt with colic, now she's slept through the night a couple times, smiles at us when she sees us, and is rolling over.

Wild times!

It was right about here that I blinked and somehow mine hit 18 months the other day

Really excited to get to the walking stages but know I'll have to learn some more patience cause of all the things she'll try to get in to.

feels like it was just a month ago that my son started putting more than 2 words together and yesterday my little baby was already driving my pickup

PS: his shoes are awesome

Bump. Baby girl is now 8 months old as of yesterday. Crawling absolutely everywhere, slowly and a little spazzy, but still crawling. Trying to figure out her surroundings now and just trying to touch and grab everything now. The wife put child locks on cabinets and drawers yesterday.

She can say "mama" now. Very lively personality and smiles and laughs a lot. Never wants to sit still and that's certainly from me. Also beginning somewhat solid foods with different flavors.

Very healthy

You'll be in that extremely fun toddler phase pretty quick. It starts around 12-15 months. We're at 20 months and it's probably the best period of their life before they become assholes.

Parent tip: Teach her ASL (sign language) starting now. Start simple like drink, eat, water, milk, more. It'll save you guys a lot of headaches when she's around 10 months when she can't verbally communicate her needs. We taught drink, eat, water, milk, more, please, thank you, bath, hat, ball, bye, sorry. Not only with us, but our parents know those basic ones, and the child watch at our YMCA. All our boys were able to start communicating at that 10-12 month mark.

lol, assholes. Awesome lol. Beautiful though thank you for the tip! My wife is SPED teacher and knows pretty basic sign language so that'll come in handy well. I'll glady play backup teacher there. My mother in law is our day care and I believe she knows some so that should work out great.
