Yes, but TBF, the football world is full of coaches living the buyout life at some level of underemployment relative to their last job.

Also his wife and daughter apparently hated it in Lincoln so they moved back to South Carolina. So Satt's gonna bachelor it up for another year for the sole purpose of collecting that $1.4m paycheck to coach TEs.

He'd collect it sitting at home, yes, but I think he knows if he sat out an entire year by the time he came back he'd be OC'ing at the Peru State level. So he needs to stay relevant. He's not highly thought of enough to where he can sit out a year and come back at a high level gig.

It's similar to the Chinander situation where he went from B1G DC --> MWC DL position coach in the span of 12 months. Which is an ouch. But credit to Chin, he took his medicine for a year and may coach his way back up to a Big 12 or ACC level DC job.

What's ironic is one of the reasons I got out of S&C Coaching is because my wife hated the schedule at the time and said we wouldn't be able to have a functional family if I stayed in that long term. Ten years later, her schedule is similar what mine used to be and her phone doesn't stop because she's a very important person at her school. Not that I was going anywhere any time from my position, but there were certainly connections in Lincoln that would have been a dream for me.
