Breaking Rogers in the portal

This comment was posted on April 1st on one of SSOs blog posts

Sounds like Casey’s frustrations were known.

@Faux Sean Callahan and I had a conversation last night about Casey and we’ve found it interesting that every time he comes up on Sharpe and Benning that they have comments about his health and whether or not he’d help this fall or not.

A healthy Casey Rogers is, in my opinion, a Sunday guy and a huge loss to this roster. However, if someone somewhere on a message board knew this then the other kids in that DL room knew as well. Ty Robinson during the spring game basically said that we need another person in that room.

If I was playing against Nebraska this year, I'd only line up with 3 offensive linemen and say come get me.

I miss the days when players would just do what was asked of them because they were committed to the team.

I miss this place being boring in the off-season and totally uneventful. Where we’d stop watching after the February signing day, pick up for a minute at the spring game, then listen during media days, then watch the first game and nothing was totally weird and there weren’t any talking points from the off-season.

The last 10-15 years is really starting to get to me to the point where I just don’t have the appetite I once did for knowledge of the going’s on with this program.

I'd run every heavy personnel set possible, smack the fuck out of us for 4 quarters, control the ball, and win the game...because it's probably an inevitability we'll turn the ball over on offense, or shit our pants on special teams.

Just que up another season for me of heavy drinking, pissed off Saturdays yelling at the TV and my wife and kids staring at me like I'm a lunatic.

Shoot even from like 2007-2015, turn the TV off after the last game, turn it on for Game 1, and the only real changes were a few names of players but most of the rest stayed the same, and we won 9 games a year. A little aggravating with the few losses, but it was tough to beat during that time. I do envy those of of 15-20 years ago where literally the only thing that ever changed was a couple player names at positions, but everything else stable.

The insight is great, but at this point I almost enjoy the conversations with people more than anything because of how bad the in game diarrhea has been the last few years

Eric should stick to things that aren't comparing stats. Yikes

Lol it gets worse. He writes code and crunches numbers for a living. Big oof
He should have just said the remaining dlineman other than Ty Rob have a combined 17(not really) games played 42 snaps and 2 tackles or whatever it is.

As an example Nash is showing as 12 games played. He had 26 total snaps in 5 games on the dine. The other 7 games were on special teams (FG).

Bottom line its a stupid comparison because its comparing people that haven't played to a person that played regularly.

If you didn't know this loss hurt from a returning experience position in an area that was already lacking returning experience then you're not paying attention at all.

Yeah, so pretty much like the year when Pelini had cam Meredith playing on the interior out of necessity

There's apparently rumors of another D-Line guy going into the portal per Sharp and Benning this morning. Jim in MN posted the audio on twitter. Anyone heard anything. I think it was Sharp that said "you don't wanna lose that guy"

Holy shit… literally can’t afford to lose anyone else from the DL. Even the youngsters will likely be needed for snaps at this point. You have to imagine there will be some bumps and bruises on the interior in the B1G too. I feel worst for our LBs, who are legit, but likely to be beaten up most of the season.
