Rivals board with a true Injury Report

Nice to see some actual sports reporting and not kissing up to Frost. Said Henrich out with a broken hand, had surgery. Also said Snodgrass & Vokolek not likely to play. We finally get to see what Mauga can do.

Unfortunately Henrich had an awful game. It concerns me with this staff that they don't try a different player when one is struggling. We can't have players like Reimers & Henrich playing too many plays. Maybe that is why NW ran over them in the 4th quarter, plus increased chances of injury.
Agreed - tired players are MUCH more likely to get hurt. Maybe our depth ... is actually pretty shallow. Disturbing to contemplate, but likely the case.

Greg had a point with being critical of how we practice. No tackling during the spring game, limited tackling during fall camp, no tackling now in-season.

Is it a surprise at all we were soft as fuck and couldn’t tackle on Saturday?
It was kind of ironic. In The Purdue vs Penn State pregame, Urban Meyer basically said that both teams had been practicing best on best in preparation for each other, risking injuries because the team needs it to be prepared to face a conference foe. Said that was the way he did it as well.

Caught my attention.

I don't think tackling is the issue. Tackling to the ground in college football practice rarely happens.

I think the bigger problem is, playing at game speed while not tackling.

You think mouthpiece-gate deserves any credence? DB and Sharp talked about former player/s talking about the team not practicing hard/full-speed/full-contact, hence the habit of not putting your mouthpiece in.

I thought it sounded like a stretch but also made some sense. Haven't really paid attention to that generally but it did catch my attention during the game.

Our practices in general suck. Is it true we dont even stretch we just do aerobic type shit to get loose? Who gives a fuck about the timing of jumping jacks.

I saw Saban on TV walking around at an Alabama practice the other day. The players were laying on the ground doing 2 man stretching like most competent programs have done for 100 years

I'd say that's a much bigger piece than the "well they're not tackling at all crowd."

They are contact restricts across all levels of football, especially live situations. I don't know what it is collegiately, But I'm sure it's similar. And coach's don't want to go to the ground anyways. That's when the majority of your injuries occur, limit it as much as possible.

Pretty much every program I'm guessing runs the majority of their practices at Thud pace. It's high and hard. Some guys do get tackled to the ground, but you don't have dudes landing on top of each other. That's the only difference.

My guess is this...They're Thud, but the whole mouthpiece thing does hold a lot of credit IMO. If you're not worried about getting your shit rocked, because you've got quick whistles...than, that makes sense. And if you've got quick whistles, dudes are pulling up and not really playing at game speed.

That's the problem IMO. If that's what's happening.

Dynamic Warmup.

I'm sure Alabama does the same thing. But probably incorporate some static flexibility prior to their dynamic

Guessing we did not do that very much...

I think the issue is we do less than the restrictions. We’ve missed out on 90+ bowl practices over the last 5 years, i think we need all the live to the ground reps we can get.

Spring game was a good opportunity for some live bullet flying action…. Nope 2 hand touch. Good teams don’t worry about injuries before they happen.
