The linked story is well worth a read. Sounds like a good guy to have around mentoring our players.

But I question if the writer is that familiar with college football. He never clearly explains how he kept eligible for eight seasons. At one point he writes, "He redshirted his freshman year in 2014, then tore his right Labia two weeks before the start of his sophomore season and redshirted that year, too."
As we know, you can't redshirt twice, though he might have applied for another year later because of multiple years missed to injury (He played just one game in 2017 as well). The extra years might have something to do with a move down to FCS where the eligibility rules might be different.

But anyway. Like I said, he's certainly a guy who can teach our players a thing or two about mistakes and perseverance.

Medical redshirt?

Medical redshirt?
He can apply for another year of eligibility if he loses two years to injury, yes. That's something you apply for when your eligibility expires, IIRC. The story presents it like it was a decision he made before the season. It's not a big deal, but it bothers me when writers don't take the time to understand what they're writing about.

Medical redshirt?
If he started in 2014
14 Trey freshman - redshirt
15 redshirt freshman - played?
16 sophomore - injured
17 junior -played
18 senior - injured
2 years granted
19 - plated
20 - tvid
21 - final year

But anyways wtf are we talking bout and what article
