I think it's both true that it would have been higher now because offenses are better at prioritizing easy throws and that Crouch would never be the level of passer who could win a starting job at a major program now and would likely be moved positions

Yeah, it’s definitely hard to compare against eras. We for sure would have ran more plays out of spread formations and the training he would have gotten in HS would have been better (7 on 7, running a more pass heavy offense in HS, etc.).

Every really good NFL QB is a pass first guy who has the ability to scramble when necessary; Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers (prime), Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniel’s, etc.

I know what it takes, but at the same time, I don’t want to go backwards to Jamal Lord (20 y/o me loved), Eric Crouch, Taylor Martinez, etc.

Nico I., Jayden M., etc. that’s the kind of guy we need. Not a 1,000 yard rusher from Conference USA.

What are you rambling about. I never said TJ is some super qb. I want a portal transfer that is a proven winner. But if I’m choosing between chiles and TJ I’m taking TJ. I already know what chiles ceiling is.

I want a winner at qb. I don’t care if his completion rate is sub 50% like Tommie Frazier - I want a winner.

Maybe demanding a winner at qb is too old fashioned for some husker fans
