Pinstripe Bowl post-game shit tweet thread

I have since (my adult years) coached against, for, and worked with (crouch recreation) with him and he is actually a very nice guy
I was always a fan of crouch. Seemed like a likeable guy and obviously was a fantastic player.
I went to college outside the state during the Crouch years and I can confirm there was was hate toward him. But it seemed to be the fact that Crouch embodied everything they hated about Nebraska: bigger/stronger/faster, success w local guys + lot of wins.

I think Crouch was just easy to hate bc his Nebraska-ness went to 11.

Yrs later I think all of those fans greatly respect Crouch though. He's not like a Chase Daniel - where opposing fans will still hate him 20 yrs later.

I was in the DC area at the time, saw quite a few kids rocking crouch jerseys and saw a few fairly high level QBs choose #7 specifically because it was his number. Guy was great for the NU brand.

I was nearby so that explains the difference lol

If you want to find people talking crazy shit about anyone, just go to Twitter and you'll find it quick.

Opposing fans will find any reason to dislike a player. With Raiola, much of it is due to the fact that he is a 5 star that the media loved to compare to Mahomes in the early part of the season.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's like when Duke Basketball unleashes their next tall white guy for everyone to hate on.

For some reason my dad hated crouch. Never understood why (I was like 6) so by the transitive property I did t like him either

Guessing but, it may have been because he quit the team and Solich or Osborne drove to Omaha to convince him and Millard North high school into coming back. Petino (sp?) never really like sending his players to NU.

Hate is so weird. The original picture was just a half way decent joke and people attach onto it so hardcore. The picture that went viral he just has a broccoli haircut and was wearing sunglasses. Like 50% of Gen Zers look like that. I don’t think he was trying to look like Mahoney at all.

That’s not to say he doesn’t try to imitate him on the field, but the original pic was just a regular ass Gen Zer that was a witty comment.

NGL, the Maholmes cosplay is Corny AF but I’m too old to make fun of a 19 year old kid before he hits phase 2 brain puberty like every 20-22 kid in the history of time.
I think most young players imitate others. Mahomes just has a very specific style so it stands out more & the whole part about the same trainer before he even had gotten to college.
