Fred can’t cruit confirmed. Also he has had issues with team chemistry in the past. One time was with Butler who is a nut but it’s a recurring theme. No dog in the fight for me as I want them to fix football first.Hell of a find!
Pitino said that between $3.5M and $4M has gone to pay players this year. Kilgannon reported that would put it in the top 20 highest NIL payrolls in the country.
Hmmmm.
Buffet, like everyone else is free to spend his money as he wishes. You might not like it, but it’s his money.I really really really dislike Warren.

While I wish NU would get a large donation, I agree with this. Buffett is one of the largest philanthropy donors with a life time of 59 billions. So if you ask me, I would say he’s spending his money in a way that impacts a wider audience and the world than just athletics. Whether people agree with that and/or the Causes he donates to is a different story.Buffet, like everyone else is free to spend his money as he wishes. You might not like it, but it’s his money.

The Susan buffet scholarship alone provides money to 4,000 students annually.
That’s more than all the student athletes at all schools combined.
To me, while I love sports and they’re practically my life, that is a better more impactful use of donations.
If a national championship came down to UConn and Pickle Smoochers, who do you cheer for?
I have to go UConn even though I can’t stand Hurley.
There is not even remotely a debate about this if you consider yourself a Nebraska fanIf a national championship came down to UConn and Pickle Smoochers, who do you cheer for?

necessarily directed towards you, but more so the Buffett hates Nebraska narrative. And my post was mostly facetious.
I also know there's never a likelihood his donations change...unless he leaves a few billion upon his death - which I don't see either. He's given a lot, and bigger picture he's likely making a wise decision. Although a giant donation would likely lead to better players, which attract better teams, which attract more students to a school that he attended. Which attracts more tuition money, which helps academics.
We don't have anyone with that type of wealth close to the program.
It’s just the most Nebraska thing ever that someone worth hundreds of billions won’t allow his name to be put on the business school or give to AD but gave to Gates fund and all the high flyer politicians. My post wasn’t
necessarily directed towards you, but more so the Buffett hates Nebraska narrative.
There’s no doubt athletics play factors in school attendance but there are so so much more that plays into that. Hell 4-5out of the top 10 largest enrolled schools arguably have a worse overall athletic department than us. So many more factors that I can go down a rabbit hole on but this is not the thread nor do I want to potentially start shit
Too be fair he made a lot of money for early investors in Berkshire who have given plenty of money to the universityIt’s just the most Nebraska thing ever that someone worth hundreds of billions won’t allow his name to be put on the business school or give to AD but gave to Gates fund and all the high flyer politicians.
He’s worth half a trill…I don’t give a chit.Too be fair he made a lot of money for early investors in Berkshire who have given plenty of money to UNL
I think he ended up pulling most of his money out of the Gates stuff. It’s just the most Nebraska thing ever that someone worth hundreds of billions won’t allow his name to be put on the business school or give to AD but gave to Gates fund and all the high flyer politicians.
I think these are 25k each. That would be 100 mil.The Susan buffet scholarship alone provides money to 4,000 students annually.
No they are term/enrollment based meaning there’s a scale for how much one you’d get depending on the college and enrollment status. For example full time at unl is a max of 5850. Full time at Wayne is maxed at 4650. Then scaled for 2/3 , 1/2 etc.I think these are 25k each. That would be 100 mil.
