Not gonna lie, I don’t know the science behind this stuff, but the pictures are incredible. The fact that the one that shows the galaxy cluster is effectively the area of a grain of sand in the sky….I mean the universe is unfathomable.

Truly unfathomable. I've been waiting for these pictures for months. The size and scale of the universe is truly mind-bending.

Ever want to initiate a full on existential crisis? Contemplate how small earth is in the grand scheme of our solar system, then how small our solar system is in the grand scheme of our galaxy, then how small our galaxy is in the grand scheme of the universe. We aren't even a fraction of a grain of sand when you boil it down that far.

To top it all off, sit and think about the mathematical impossibility that we are the only planet in the universe that sustains life. Absolutely zero fucking chance.

The galaxy cluster is absolutely incredible. As is the nebula picture. I can't wait to see more. It's insane how little we truly know about our universe. We feel as if we live in the most advanced civilization in earth's long history. Yet there is so much more to learn. And frankly when you relate it to all that is out there, our earth's history isn't all that long either.

Another thing that amazes me: I'm sure there is some rhyme or reason to how they choose where to photograph, but its wild to think that James Webb can essentially point at any random direction in space and its going to bring in never before seen wonders of photos.

I spent a lot of time yesterday watching videos of scientists break this down. Really cool stuff.

Also mind blowing that we open the season on that star in the far right corner against Purdoodoo. Who the hell wants to travel to that?
