OT: ALS (Advice Needed)

So sorry for all of you! My best friend died from ALS. It’s such a bitch for the person with it, and everyone who knows them! It makes you question your faith, and why God would put someone through it. My buddy was an avid Bass fisherman, and he noticed it when he started losing his balance alot. He fell out of his boat on Lake Fork one spring and almost didn’t get back in the boat. It was heart wrenching to watch him go through all that shit! All I can say is love him hard, don’t let him get embarrassed when he can’t do the things he once could, and support the others that love him! It’s the worst fucking thing to happen to anyone, and my thoughts are with you all! Peace.

Man the hobby part might be the hardest part. I can't imagine just having to slowly realize day by day that you're incapable of doing the things that bring you joy anymore.

I wanted to take my dad along with me to golf one of the courses down here he loves and he said he couldn't ride along with me because seeing that course and knowing he can't play it is just too depressing for him.

Pretty cool moment last night. My dad loves watching my son play baseball and was pretty bummed out he wouldnt be able to make it up to Nebraska to watch him this year.

I reached out to the coach of the Select team down here and he was able to arrange a 7 on 7 scrimmage with a couple of their teams and he was able to watch.

My boy went 5 for 6 with 4 doubles and had a couple diving catches. My dad was over the moon excited.

Also, @Huskerbuck85 - Appreciate your recommendation there, that medicine has improved his voice and doctors are shocked he's still walking unassisted. Not sure if it's the stuff you mentioned or just my dad being a stubborn old fuck but he's hanging in there so far.
Man you have no idea how happy I am to hear that! I’m glad he was able to make that game and get to enjoy some time watching his grandson. Keep fighting!
God Bless
