Opendorse > ABM

I still don't know exactly how it all works but I believe Opendorse and ABM do different things within the NIL biz. Totally agree that Opendorse seems miles ahead of ABM as a professional organization.
One is a legitimate company, ran by legitimate individuals.

One is the coach’s best friend who gets inside info and players funneled his way.

And I won't share the exact details here but there are also some concerns with ABM & the University walking a fine line of compliance. I don't like it one bit and if Frost/ABM get us on probation for it I'm gonna be pissed. Definite issue when the coaches best friend is the one handing out money to student athletes and has access to inside info/resources of the University. I pray to gawd that Turd is monitoring this closely and making sure it is on the Up n Up. We aren't big enough to get by with NCAA Violations and not get hit hard with sanctions.

I hope they toe that line and even cross it. NCAA is powerless. Everybody that’s any good at all breaks the rules.

But let's break rules that help us win. Breaking rules to help the coach's friend make a buck ain't worth it.
Let them hang themselves and it becomes a win win. Frost gets fired for cause and we don't have to pay his buyout clause. Then ABM will go under and someone can do it right. BTW, how is John Cook making NIL work to is advantage for volleyball recruiting? Saw an article, but haven't read it yet.

They are Toeing the Line in a manner that benefits both the program and ABM but it is a business advantage to ABM as no other company would get the same benefits (information & Resources) from our program. I am not a fan of Nepotism when it comes to this kinda stuff. I might have a less concerned stance if what I was hearing about ABM from Boosters/Businesses was not so dang Negative.

I agree but the difference about Nebraska versus athletic depts that are worth a shit is that we are expendable to the NCAA. The big boys aren't. They could make an example out of us and not feel it.

I sent Turd a text and he assured me that all is good…..

What are you hearing ?

I can't share the info about ABM & Frost on an Open Forum as if it is an NCAA Violation it could be used against our program.

But I can share what I have heard from Boosters/Businesses wanting to get involved with NIL $$$$. Basically more than 1 has said they are not impressed with Gerrod or ABM. A couple have been directed to Gerrod to get involved with getting NIL Funds to players and were not impressed with him, and in multiple cases did not trust him. 1 called him a "Dolt", literally called him a "Dolt". That's not a term of endearment. Another said it felt "Scammy". They all said it was quite unprofessional and didn't feel it reflected well on the University but then again these are big businessmen so they are use to well run companies approaching them for business.

A couple felt like they were being forced to direct their NIL resources to Adrian Martinez so our coaches could use him as an example to recruits of how much a player could make at Nebraska. How is that fair to the other players? I believe a couple of them may have voiced their concern on this matter to the Athletic Department. I know of at least 2 Boosters that left frustrated and refused to do anything through ABM.

So if they get caught Nebraska will....not get to go to a bowl game? Oh no. Be bad for 10 years because of scholly reductions...well walking the straight and narrow has gotten Nebraska exactly that. So what are we talking about here?

Yea, maybe it's just me, but being an absolute embarrassment and getting laughed at by....everyone....is getting old. I'd like to avoid that same embarrassment for getting in trouble for paying players illegally when we can pay them legally.

How you would you even pay a kid illegally now?

My point is that you know there are some old heads at places like Nebraska that think they are beyond reproach and kids shouldn't be getting paid, yada yada yada. Horse shit. If it really costs $1 million to get 5 Star DL linemen. Find the money and pay it, Nebraska, because of location and lack of success probably have to pay $1.5 million...fine. Pay it. Because if you don't, someone else will and Nebraska will continue to get left in the dust. Quit worrying about optics or what some donor thinks and pay players. Anyway possible. There are no rules right now. Coaches are recruiting players off of other rosters. "Charities" are being set up to pay players $50k a year. Don't worry about rules, get the players now, start winning and then when the rules are in place (f they ever are) you can worry about them.

The last thing Nebraska wants or needs is to get left behind in 2026 when TV Deals and realignment starts happening again....the SEC and other powers are gonna look at the NCAA and say "F" you, we don't need you for football and they are going to pick the schools that can make them the most money and create their own league.

Nebraska needs to be in that group.

Yea I completely agree that we need to be in that group. I guess my point was that if we're going to toe the line or cross the line, we have to be smart about it and it sounds like we aren't. We're not in a good position to play chicken with the NCAA. We have a lot on the line the next few years.
