It’s 5.2 - 6.1 so why not just make it 1-10 stars instead or do half stars if they demand 5 star be the max.
Why not 100 stars?
They can't use the bottom half of the scale or it hurts kids feelings.
When is the last time you saw a kid with a 1 or 2 star ranking. Everybody is a 3 star at least now.
Started out as 1-5 star, they stopped using the bottom, so did the 5.5-6.1 thing and at least everyone is a 3 star now.
Has anyone seen any player rated below a 5.5 three star the last couple of years? I don't think I have.
This is why I like EA Sports, they arent afraid to give children 1 and 2 stars.

Also pull up the rivals team rankings and sort by star average. Plenty of teams under 3 average implying 2 and 0 star commits. Rivals has never had 1 star as far as I know.
