Omaha's housing market

(Off-topic but probably doesn't need its own thread.)

Unpopular opinion: a lot of granite countertops are fugly. People spend all this money designing and building these sleek, elegant kitchens, and then they put in a granite countertop with wild contrasting patterns and colors, and it just looks like shit.

"What kinda countertop you want?"

"Can you make my kitchen look like something a 1980s hair band would've worn?"

"Say no more, fam!"

So whichever guy in CA paid $850k for the house next door apparently either doesn’t care or doesn’t realize that the lawn needs to be mowed. Nobody has moved in yet and the lawn looks like this:

Grass is starting to seed and weeds popping up all over. Smh libs

Run to your next door app and fire up the mob

Close on a house we bought in Waverly a week from Thursday. Then we got about $75,000 in renovations we’re trying to pull off in 3 weeks all subcontracted. Fuck’n hell all this shit is time consuming.
Usually one sub fucks everything up. What are you having done in that time frame?

whole house paint and floors, combining 2 bathrooms into 1 bigger master bath and a bigger closet. Re-doing kitchen countertops both upstairs and downstairs, new kitchen cabinets upstairs and changing the kitchen layout a bit and adding an island. Installing a wood-burning stove later on. We’ve bought most of the supplies/hardware already so as long plumbing and electric go smoothly quickly it really shouldn’t be too bad

Had some people move in up the street from me a few weeks ago and immediately went up a gay pride and Black Lives Matter flag on their front porch (they are white, obviously)
