Seriously, the amount of retards on the road in Omaha is ridiculous.

I've only been here for a couple years and the amount of times I've been almost wrecked, merged into, ran off the road is in twice double digits.

People piss on Lincoln cause it's slow, but damn I never once had shit like this happen on the road there.

Honestly this is valid - I grew up in Omaha but was amazed coming back and seeing people, among other things, intentionally not let anyone in (speeding up to prevent it even), driving like assholes, etc.

Chicago drivers might be way more aggressive but they’re at least courteous and predictable - IDK where the attitude comes from in Omaha.

Pillen needs to rehab his image and start deporting these pukes. I don’t really care where we send them… Back to cockeyeville, Mexico, El Salvador, alligator Alcatraz, Guantanamo Bay.

It comes from where ever the assholes migrated to Omaha from. When I first moved to Omaha in 1993 it was pretty safe even on the freeway. The last time I went back to Omaha a month ago it was like I was driving in the world of the 5th Element.

Omaha > Lincoln
Lincoln sucks ass to drive in. Terrible infrastructure
Drivers are way worse in Lincoln as well IMO plus it’s a speed trap town. I got 3 speeding tickets in Lincoln during the 2 years I lived there while I’ve never gotten pulled over one in the ~15 years since I first started driving in Omaha.

Regardless of origin, the BIGGEST dangers on the road in Omaha (and everywhere else, honestly) are the cot dam asshats that insist on texting whilst driving.

I've lost count of the number of times I've been stopped at a red light and observed in my rear view mirror someone racing towards my rear bumper while staring at their phone vs. paying attention to the fact that they're headed towards a collision. A last minute glance up and locking up the brakes brings them to a screeching halt, and I'm able to change from my "brace for impact" stance in my seat and get ready to move forward when the light changes.

And observing the number of times people drift out of their lane and either into the adjacent lane or into the oncoming traffic lane is incalculable.

The technology exists to disable these features when paired to a vehicle (use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, assholes!) or whilst in motion. If you're a passenger, then confirm via a phone-based affirmation that you are in fact a passenger and NOT operating the vehicle. If that box is checked and you're the cause of an accident, it should be a straight trip to the pokey for a 5 year stint of prison life.

TL/DR: fuck people who text and drive and place everyone else on the road at risk.
