I read that AD Mitchell was either Texas or USC bound.
Quick Google search found comments that he was looking to get closer to home as a reason for leaving. Whether true or not, who knows. Also turns out he has Type 1 Diabetes. Would love to add a talented 6-4 WR to our room. Rhule creating competition.

Considering his hometown of Antioch, TN is a 5 hour drive from Athens, I'd say this reasoning is bogus. Austin is a 12 hour drive and LA is. . . further.

From 24/7
Arik Gilbert visited this past weekend, I can confirm. He's listed in the student directory so we're keeping a very close eye on that one. He caught two passes for 16 yards and a touchdown last year and he was the No. 5 overall recruit in the 2020 class – the top tight end in the country in that cycle. He started his career at LSU and then transferred to Georgia in the summer of 2021. He stepped away from the UGA squad in the fall of that season but returned in January.

He had 35 catches for 368 yards and 2 TDs at LSU in 2020. He averaged over 10 yards a catch that season.

Another guy to watch for is offensive tackle Jacob Hood. He's 6-8, 350. The Tennessee native did not see any snaps last season for Georgia, but he was an early enrollee last winter and had ankle surgery prior to the start of spring. He had a number of SEC offers outside of Georgia.

He looked good at LSU. I had wondered what happened to him.
He and Hood would be huge additions.
It's not that I wouldn't be excited to add Hood, but Gilbert could and should make an immediate, significant impact Hood adds much needed depth and potentially could start at OL, but he doesn't have the experience that a lot of these other OL transfers that we have been after have. Still would love to add him though.
