I was planning on a longer write up once a week, probably on Fridays. I may sprinkle in a few short ones during the week if anything stands out.

I exchanged a couple texts with Waterboy this evening and here are some quotes to hold you over:

“The receivers look completely different. Manning is enthusiastic and looks fast. Betts looks stronger. Tour has a lot of respect already. They will be the most improved group by far.”

“Smothers threw well from what I saw but it’s Martinez show. He looked good and they through more deep balls today than they would in a week all fall.”

“Erwin is gonna be a beast. Can’t tell he’s a freshman. I thought he looked as good or better than the returners.”

“It’s been a while so hard to compare, but I thought everyone looked fast. Fresh legs maybe?”

There were a couple more about Nadab Joseph, Haarberg, Buford, the new ginger linebacker, and the offensive line but I’ll make you wait a couple days for those.

Dinner at moms on Thursday so I should get some more then.

Overall: Very positive and Kool-Aidy if you’re into that sort of thing.

I would do something like that if I got the nugs in real time. I spend maybe 4 hours a week with Waterboy and text a few times a day so what I report is second hand and pieced together.

I’d have him wear a body cam to practice but it’s probably easier to get a suitcase full of meth through TSA than it is to get a camera past North Stadium.
