I understand that and briefly felt joyous hope. After we took the lead in the 4th qtr my wife said “oh now you have hope? I thought you said this would be a blowout” And then I realized that we won no matter the outcome due to my low expectations

I think the least painful type of loss is like a 28-14 type of game

It's obviously very painful to get btfo. And it's excruciatingly painful to have the balm with two minutes left and a chance to win it, and go like 0-20 these last 5 years in that position
