Most head coaches hire guys who they have connections with. I get your point though. A lot of Rhule’s hires don’t fit what they are getting paid.
Agreed. I don't mind the buddy hires because he had a history of making good hires. I judge the head coach if they are willing to make the tough decisions when it is time to let them go. Even if it mid season.

I understand people saying not hiring buddy thing. But honestly pretty much every coach staff everywhere does that. Our issue is we hire coaches with shitty friends that are shitty coaches.

I really don’t care. Talk the talk man…. Still waiting.

I agree, but many couldn’t see it. Rhule is in a super conference now. It’s one thing to develop a coaching staff in the Big 12, but you better have a great staff in the BIG or you’re going to get exposed and that’s where we stand today. I’m not looking for every assistant to get fired, but there better be some vast changes, or we will be looking for a new coach 2-3 years from now.

The ire over some of the coaching staff hires was correct. We got totally outcoached and out schemed today by 1000 miles. And this is nothing new - you could see it happening after the CU game. Neither our OC or DC are ingenious enough to make adjustments. Both offense and defense are figured out by the opposition, and badly. And now the snowball has turned into an avalanche - the team has quit - and that is when the season is really lost. Continually being put into bad situations kills players confidence.

That Rhule program turnaround thing is looking much less likely for us. This is a different/better conference and there are few if any gimmes, and opposing staffs look to almost all be better than ours for the most part. In all phases of the game.
