I honestly don’t love the Whipple hire only because Frost’s timeline is so short. He seems like a big identity change, though maybe Frost will try to use that as an excuse if the offense sucks next year?
Don't think the identity change will be very drastic, and I'd imagine most fans won't notice much of a difference in all honesty. I do find it interesting if they're trying to run more gun triple like they did toward the end of the year, how Whipple will implement it.

Happy to hear that. Been reading some of what Pitt fans thought about him and he didn’t run the ball as much as they’d like, so maybe Frost will help blend in more of that gun triple like you mentioned to bring more balance.

My personal guess is, they'll take Whipple's background in being multiple in formation and blend it with what they're doing now mostly. He's got a wide background in the passing game, so that may be an area where they expand on that area while keeping the running game mostly intact. Just my guess.

I had heard that about him not running the ball, but not sure what they were looking for. Whipple was brought in to increase Pitt's passing game, that was what Narduzzi has said. Their stats the last 3 years show about 50/50 to 55/45 run/pass ratio.

Running game mostly intact meaning basically nonexistent outside of the QB run?

Sorry just had to be a smart ass.

Defense is going to take a step backwards most likely, next years freshman cheerleaders are coming in 5 pounds heavier on average and we won't have a center if Jurgens leaves = no bowl game and ugly sideline cheers all year

I think the defense will take a pretty sizable step back too, but that could change if we add some key transfers. Especially if we can get someone to rush the god damn passer.

I don't mind the hires and expect them to all work together nicely. There will be more attention to detail so less mistakes. Offense won't look much different besides a safer qb that won't put us in trouble. Really.. special teams can't get worse so expect better. The less Scott does the better! I'm so worried about the defense though. Still not convinced they're the answer! Have a feeling that is the side of the football everyone will be upset with next year.

Gotta find a stud running back now though. Maybe 1 kid in that group that's worth a shit. Don't want to hear different either.

most people thought STs couldn't get worse from for a few years and here we are.. I realize statistically it'd be nearly impossible for that to happen in 2022, but it's been thoroughly proven this staff NEEDS a ST coord. so until they get one, I don't expect substantial gains. Couple that with a defense that may regress a bit, and who knows where we are next year..

Bump for confession.

I almost let all these offers and guys in the portal get me excited.
Your confession is honorable.

Remaining as negative as possible will be a difficult task for many, but this is a team effort. Together I think a majority of us can remain in complete despair until the football team inevitably takes the reins of misery from our hands and continues to drag us further into the pit of agony.

I don’t know what any of the coaches said in their interviews but here is your friendly reminder not to believe any of it.

Also before you get excited about our 4 star commit just remember that no program anywhere has worse results with them than us.

Just remember that the mad scramble with croots was to claw our way closers to 13th place in the conference.
Our results with the “best” recruiting classes in the west are truly inspiring. Can’t wait to see what we can do with the worst class.
